Danny Dean - check out this inspiring video

Danny Dean is a wakeboarder out of Phoenix. He broke his neck in January while demonstrating some tricks to a church group by jumping off a mini-trampoline into a foam pit. The injury left him paralyzed below his arms and it was uncertain whether he would ever walk again. But Danny was determined to not only walk again, but to wakeboard again! He's made incredible progress and has received a ton of support from the wakeboard community, particularly the Arizona Wakeboard Association and other Phoenix-area riders.

Danny just put together a video that shows his progress and it's truely inspiring and should remind all of us how lucky we are to just be able to get out on the water and ride. It's a 7MB Quicktime file but I think it's well worth the effort to watch it.

Wow i watched thats so awesome that hes back in the water good luck Danny! That really makes me think of how lucky I am just because i get to ride, very good and wish best of things for Danny. Very Happy

Danny isnt wakeboarding again yet, the intro was some clips before he got hurt. I saw him the other day at the competition and it was really cool to see him after he got that hurt.

I watched the vid on another site and posted. But he is truly an inspiration to us all, especially in the wakeboarding community. I even watched the video again last night and had tears in my eyes again. Such a quick recovery in a short amount of time and his life will only get better from here on. He never gave up on walking or wakeboarding. I believe that he will be back on the water within a few months once he gets the okay from his doctor.

That is awesome..i can totally sypathize. i was in a bad car accident last october and broke 8 vertbrae in my back, 7 ribs, a collarbone, and collapsed my lungs, after waking up from coma i found out all this and my first question was when will i be able to wakeboard again. they told me at least a year if ever again. after all my therapy i got on the water for the first time about 2 weeks ago. it's a completely different feeling and it's like starting all over again. it's a challenge just to ride, to try and ride like i used to is not within reach yet. I ride for about 5 minutes and am out of breathe but i'm getting more and more comfortable everytime i'm out. best of wishes to danny! don't worry man you'll be back soon!!!

BillJ, Thank you for posting it, I've been letting my wakeworld memberness slip, but wow, that Video is increadible and I wish Danny the best of luck, and an even quicker recovery.
