for a while they are.... but, sometimes its like torture watching somebody learn...or try to learn...how to board. i mean i know somebody had to watch me do it, but god dammmm, some people just shouldnt strap on a board.

i taught my buddy, and once he learned how to get up i made him hit the wake an jump...now that was pretty funny.... Mr. Green

it's a hard thing to explain, but once you get it, you got it. kinda like learning to drive a standard; after the initial "oh, that's how it works" then it's just a matter of fine tuning and messing around with new stuff.

i was hella gangley when i started. still am too.

last weekend a friend from school was over and I wanted to go out on the water and he told me he wanted to learn. We get out to the channel and get him all set up and i gave him a jetpilot-molded-cant-float-for-anything-vest to use. When he dropped into the water he seemed a little uneasy and then as we started trolling away to give the rope some tension he started freaking out and yelling so we got him back in the boat and he lets us know that he is "hydrophobic" Twisted Evil So I gave him a bigger jacket to add over the JP one and we sent him out there only for him to give up after 3 tries i guess he can learn to drive just like my dad (cant swim Shocked )

I love telling newbies to just cut out as hard as they can and then charge the wake and watch them either get the faceplant of their lives or go sailing and crash hard.

it is too much fun.

but I definately agree about watching people try to get up for the first time...

Getting them in the water on cold mornings is the best part. Once the board is on, I give them 10 sec. to get in. After that, they get pushed. It's always entertaining to watch a newbie try to flip themselves over when they are on their stomach. Very Happy

Heck, I'm still eating water....I think that's the only reason my riding buddies even let me come Laughing Wink

I need to play around with the videos because I have about five minutes of straight eating it from one of my sessions early in the learning curve. Hopefully these pictures will subside all you "face-plant seekers" I just wish I had pics/vid of the faceplant that gave me a five minute nose-bleed. This one here is the precursor to a "7" faceplant!

Casing the wake sux. Enjoy!

wake4life08, thats why you get collective developement boots, they fit like anyone.

im really un-sympathetic towards noobs because i got up my first time...dont see whats hard about it, but they DO serve a purpose, entertainment! we use the same method as tyler t, but without the 10 second part Mr. Green
