|
|
| Hey guys, I am in the market for a new board and need some help. I am 5'-10" and 180 lbs. I am an intermediate rider and I am looking for a board that has good pop and smooth landings. I am partial to Hyperlite and Liquid Force. I am in my mid 30's and have attempted flips and rolls in the past without success. I am more looking for board that I can get big air with and do some grabs, 180's, 360's etc. I ride behind a Supra Launch SSV. I may try some flips etc. in the future but I really just want smooth, high flying, rides and board that want limit me if I do try some more outrageous stuff. Thanks for your help. |

Cool, well here are some boards that would work for you:
Hyperlite Temet 138
Hyperlite Premier 136
Hyperlite Era 135
Liquid Force Litmus 136
Liquid Force Substance 138
Liquid Force Team 139
You also could think about going with a 140 or 141 cm version of these boards if you want a bit more stability opposed to being able to maneuver quite as quickly. _________________ Pat McCarthy |

| you'll be happy with any of pat's boards above, but everything is personal preference. if you can, ride the boards. this is the only real way to know which to pick. |

I am 27yrs old, 5'10", and 180 and I ride last years Premier 135 Bio with highback bindings. The board has great pop and smooth landings. You will have no problems going inverted. The reason I recommend last years is because I am a cheap ba$tard and you should be able to get a great deal on this board if money is a factor. Got my board from grizzly-sports last year for super cheap. Good Luck Bro. _________________ My boat don't run on THANX |

| Thanks trammill, that is exactly the board I have narrowed it down to. I am just trying to decide on the length don't know if I want the 135 or 140. |

whitlecj, if you ride the SSV's wake mostly I would suggest the 140. With a bigger wake you'll want a bigger board to land smoother and sit higher in the water. I ride a 136 substance (similar to the premiere) and weigh 185 and it is a little too small for me on big wakes. My boat throws a medium/big wake and its perfect.
If you were considering the 135 premiere I'd say take a look at the 136 Substance. You can get a new blem from closeoutdude.com for $250. They were almost the exact same shape board in '03 to the premiere. Thats if you wanted to go with a small board. |

| Expand your horizons, there are other companies that make some very good boards. What makes you partial to those to companies? Are they the only ones you can get in your area? Granted they make some good boards, it would be wrong to limit yourself to a board that you might not like as much but is not one of those two companies. Good luck, either way I'm sure you will have fun and that is the ultimate goal. |

I just road the Gonzalez from Gator and that board rocks. A lot of pop in it. Only road it with the middle fin in and not finless. _________________ www.bsboardshop.com

| Thanks guys, I just went with the hyperlite Era and some new 02 Belmont Bindings. Got everything for $430, seemed like a good deal to me what do you guys think. The good thing is it is at my local shop and if for some reason I don't like the board, the guys are cool and i can return or exchange it. |
