I was wondering if anyone has riden the CD Ps01 bindings, and if so what do you think of them? I've got a chance to pick some up for $100, but I've never demoed them and can't find a dealer with a pair to try on. They look sweet, but they also look like there's a possibility of skin-pinch. Also, what do you think about CD footbeds? Are they soft enough for harsh landings? Give me the scoop! Thanks!

There have been a number of threads regarding the $100 CD deal.

| chavez-y-chavez - do they come off at all when you bail? Do you ever worry about ankle or knee injury? Do they loosen up at all once they're broken in, or are they permanently stiff? Does the stiffness effect your ability to reach for grabs and stuff?

Becareful on that e-bay deal for the CD bindings. I thought what the hell & ended up winning one of the auctions. then noticed $12.00 set shipping cost, thought that was kinda high, but it said fed-ex'd...so what the hell thats cool they are going to fed-ex them to me. I JUST got a note from fed-ex saying that they WILL be shipped (the auction ended over a week ago) and are expected to be delivered AROUND the date of 5/5/04!?!?!?!?! What the hell is that crap! I would have rather (demanded) paid for normal USPS shipping if I had know it was going to take over 2 weeks to get them fed-ex'd from Utah to Illinois. I could have driven to Utah and picked them up faster. Seems kinda scammy to me. Kinda like this seller got some extra money from me by stating they will be fed-ex'd when come to find out they take their sweet ol' time getting them to you. "Buyer Bewre"
sorry just venting and thought maybe some of you could learn from this.... BTW, the seller is some "shop" in Utah (can't remember the exact name) but they seemed to have a bunch of similar auctions going on. So I don't want everybody that is selling CD's on e-bay to flame me....it's this particular one to watch for.......

Buergday, they do come off when you bail - but only when you REALLY bail. They have loosened up - I've ridden them 4 times now and I notice a difference for sure in the overlay and the high ankle wrap - much more forgiving. I haven't had any problems with stiffness - I can get my hands on the board if necessary but I guess I could see if you were doing a really boned out grab **maybe** but I don't think it really is a problem.

I bought the AS01's, but I didn't like them. Sorry, chavez-y-chavez They just didn't work for me. They are really stiff, I felt like I couldn't really move as much as I'd like and the forward lean was too much, even at the loosest setting. It's not as cushioned up at the toes as my Nice's. Just my opinion, though, obviously others like them. Best would be to try them on, but at $100, that isn't a bad deal.

I agree on that statement for sure. Too bad they didn't work out - it was a good deal you got on them.

I just got a set of WS01s from that guy on Ebay. I had no problem with the shipping. Less than a week from the time I paid to when it was on my doorstep.
The bindings are cool. I like them better than my 2002 Ultras so far. I'll see if I still like them in a couple of weeks when I finally get to ride. They seem flexible enough, yet still supportive. They apply some pressure to that little ankle bone knob. I don't like that, but I haven't adjusted the overlays yet either, so we'll see. To me, the WS01s seemed to fit a wider foot better than the Ultras, too.

I just got the AS01's and I'm dying to get out there and break them in. I've been studying for finals and wearing them for a few minutes at a time....talk about a tease Anyway, right from the get-go, I've noticed that the cloth around the ankle rubs my achilles wrong, but I'm hoping that will break in. Also, the footbed is more comfortable than LF Exo's even with the laces sinched down and the air filled up. I'm not too sure how long the air pump is gonna work (I remember my Pumps back in grade school...they were cool, but didn't last long). I'm very happy that I'm not going to have to use binding lube anymore, but the lacing takes some time to get done. But, if you're worried about being too tight/too loose...you can just lace it the way you want it. It's nice to have that kind of lee-way. Some days, I want to pop out of my bindings as easily as possible, and some days, I really don't want to come out of them at all. Now I'll have the choice, instead of the always-tight non-lace bindings. I'll fill in more when I finally......finally......finally get out to the lake again. You know...eliminating finals week would reduce the stress of graduate students to the point that the only thing to worry about is repaying student loans. Now that's a double kick in the junk...
