Has anyone heard or used any of the Boss Audio Amplifiers? How do they compare to say Fosgates, PPI, or Orions? I have a friend that can get these for a VERY good price, and he swears by them, but he may just be partial to them, and I dont want any thing that wont sound good....I will be running a set of B-530s and B-60s onto it....

| Actually, they're pretty WEAK. I had one in my first car. I picked it up for $99, brand new. It was trying to drive two 8" Kicker Substations - I stress the word "trying". Basically it sounded like sh*t! It would probably drive a few pairs of 6 1/2s or 6X9s though. Just don't expect too much out of it. You get what you pay for. I had a Fosgate too - much better. |

| I would stay away from boss. My girlfriend has one in her prelude, and it sucks. It pushes what she has, but it won't start to push my orion xtr 10. I have a sony, and for the money, it is a great amp if you are looking for a good price. I really like the xtant amps and orion amps, if you want to spend a little money. |

I have had many amps and my favorite is orion.
But I think that Boss amps are not that bad. I put one in my girfriends car a long time ago and it sounded good and never failed.
I now have a boss amp in my boat. For me it didn't make sense to pay a lot of money for a high dollar amp, even though they are better.
I guess what it comes down to is, are there better amps? Yes
Are they worth the money? Yes
Do you want to be worrying about getting a $600 amp wet? No
