i dont know how a tv tuner would magically put your video onto your hard drive, but a firewire cable might help if you have a firewire card on your computer. _________________ www.TheLiquidPlayground.com

I think he means a TV tuner for the computer... like a card that lets you watch cable on your computer.
To give you the right answer to this question, we need to know more about your video source. I'll assume it's a video camera (you never actually said). If that's a good assumption, is it digital? |

He said he wants to edit so that means digitizing (capturing) video from a source (TV, camcorder, deck). The video I/O on graphics cards simply pass the NTSC (TV signal) through to the digital part of the card. You need a firewire or analog capture card depending on your source. _________________ Rich Dykmans |

I think that you'll have to buy a device that converts the analog tapes to a digital signal and puts it in to the computer... i think Pinacle makes one _________________ we pillage we plunder we riffle we loot drink up me hardies yo ho! |

you got it all wrong. Here's the correct steps:
1. get your camcorder
2. eject the tape
3. Jam it in your cd-rom drive
4. Pour mustard on it to seal the connection
bam. your done. |

Step 1. Throw your PC out the window
Step 2. Go buy a mac
Step 3. Plug your camera into Firewire
Step 4. Open iMovie
Step 5. Click import
Step 6. Nope, 5 is enough. _________________ PS- this is what part of the alphabet would look like if Q and R were eliminated.

if your cam. doesnt have a fire wire port on it.. pinnacle makes a package with the rca to usb port hardware and some base software for about 80 bucks.
best buy has it... if your cam has a firewire hook up just buy a card for the pc and let r rip. _________________ f*ck it, lets ride..
