Explanation: Andy & Joni Hansen own and operate the WWC, World Wakeboard Center. They have been 10-year contributors to the growth of our action sport. Even just recently, Andy is being pro active with the DEP, Department of Environmental Protection in an attempt to help them determine criteria for permitting sliders on our waterways. The state had made a decision to not permit any sliders and Andy is convincing them otherwise. The Hansens are requesting our help and I want you to support them. The camp they operate, WWC, is on a 62 acre lake in Lake County, Florida. The Hansens own 40 acres of the lake along with over 2000 feet of shoreline. However, a new developer has purchased land to the west of them and is trying to shut their operation down. For 30 years the school and camp has exclusively operated on the lake, surrounded by orange groves and undeveloped land. The Hansens are and have been the only resident on the lake. The Hansens are willing to share the lake with reasonable conditions for all parties. However, the developer is not willing to share the lake and only desires for the WWC operation to end.

Vote Yes for Hansens C.U.P. request!



It has been brought to my attention that the Hansens have submitted application for the continuance of their world renowned wakeboard program at WWC, World Wakeboard Center. The Hansen family is well known for their active participation in the fastest growing segment of water sports, Wakeboarding. Trevor, Amber and Reed Hansen are all current or former National or World Champions. The WWC, World Wakeboard Center is very reputable and respected for high quality training programs offered to students of every age and skill level worldwide. Lake County should consider it an extreme honor to host such an excellent establishment and do everything they can to support the Hansens. We encourage you to approve their Conditional Use Permit.
