gash in my head from skate

i was riding yesterday behind my sick boat on an awesome day with 2 of my good friends in the boat driving and filming and just chilling. i was riding alright, and i went to do a lipslide backside 270 out and i fell because my right foot (i'm regular) fell off the board in front of me (because i was switch now). now normally when i fall like that i put my hands up in an attempt to stop the board from smashing me in the head, but apparently i missed the board. it surfed down from a roller and nailed the side of my head. this had happened before so i thought no big deal but after having put my hand on my head and pulling it out in front of me caked in blood, i started to freak out. i yelled for my friend who was driving to pick me up fast and we headed towards shore, with my head still spewing blood. fortunately we got the gash cleaned up pretty good and my boat has no blood stains! the driver had the same type of thing happen to him, except he was wakeboarding and scorpioned on a toeside wakejump, the board fell off and hit him in the head. it was creepy, too, because it was the same time last year and the same lake...he had to get 7 staples in his head, and we were afraid i had to get some too, but my neighbor is an ER doctor and she patched me up with this invisible healing bandaid stuff. it rocked. so basically the moral of the story is, be careful when you fall on a wakeskate, because it CAN hit you, contrary to popular belief. maybe wear a helmet or just dive under the water a few feet until the skate is done flyin around. i'm lucky-i'll be riding again in about 4 days....

Man that sucks. Maybe you should start wearing a helmet (you said you had been hit before by the skate in the head). Good to see it wasnt a serious injury.

Also I saw you ride on whippowil, I ride there alot, were you the kid riding behind a jetski on wednesday? We saw two kids out skating. We were in an older natique doing a photoshoot.

Sucks that you got hit in the head... I don't think I have ever gotten hit in the head by my skate...

on wednesday? i don't think so. i had a jetski but it broke. i ride a byerly. i did a shoot with kyle and time and chase last sunday or so though..were you the guy in the boat with chase? telling me to drop the byerly? hahaha...yeah i'm considering it....that things got some crazy sharp edges...i've got the new nautique and i'm in the house with the flatrail out front.

Yea that was me. Get chase to hook you up with a 484 skate. I think he has a 40" he dont want. Not sure though.

ive been hit in the head multiple times by my skate,luckily the 2 times i wasnt wearing a helmet it was the middle of the board so it was a flat surface...but my helmet feels your pain narc p rider...

next time your on whipporwill with chase call me up, i'll pull you guys behind the nautique and chase can bust frontside bigspins to front lip..he rips. yeah i saw that 40 inch 484 he says he hates it but that kyle wanted to get it from him. i gotta ride it first.

Narc P Rider's got nothing. you should wear a helmet man, it would really make you feel more comfortable while getting up. maybe you should just drop wakeskating i mean, really. ive got a 70" piece of plywood if u wanna come ride up here in Illinois.

I'm glad to hear you didn't get hurt seriously. I seriously would wear a helmet after that happening.

colefooter, I would just tough it out, espescially if there were ladies out there. Just go out with a gash after it healed a lil bit and bring em back out and try to just bust like crazy... But thats me and my ego talkin. Very Happy
