i'm working on a video right now and when i improt the audio track that i want it's a little messed up. probably not noticable to someone who hasn't heard the song i'm using but it's extemly important to my vid that the audio is flawless. it's the most noticable in the into when it's just the drums/symbols. any ideas. when i listen to it in my windows media player the song sounds alright.

alright while i'm at it i also have another problem. for another video i had a friend send me a song over instant messenger because i you can't get this band off of the internet as of yet. however when i try to import it it says that the file is unsupported and it can't import it. what can i do to correct this?
hey derrick whats up?....anyway im gonna try and answer your questions....i think i can answer your second question first...what file format is it? if it is an mp3 then you are going to have to convert it to a wav file. If it already is a wav file then there is just something about the way the file was made that isnt compatible with premiere. as for the first question...it may just be that while playing the audio and video at the same time premiere may just be dropping frames in an attempt to keep everything running smoothly. run a test....render out the area where you notice the audio problem the most....render it out to a small avi file and then play the avi file and see if the problem is still there. _________________ huh?....what?....merchant marines?

switch- well i figured something out. whenever i open up the project it play's the track right but then if i restart it to listen and watch again it usually will mess up. i rendered the work area and the audio. i'm guessing it's just something i'll have to deal with unless you got a better idea. how would i render out to an avi file? i just used the render audio in the timeline.
derrick- well if it plays the track right the first time you open it up then odds are when you render the final video the audio will be right....(theoretically). To render out to an avi or mov file...just go to file, export, um....(insert choice expletive here)....i can't remember....i do this every day....hmm....here goes a shot in the dark...i do believe it is the first option in the sub-menu that pops up when you choose export. i think its export to file or something like that...and export it as an AVI using some sort of intelligent compression...i use Intel Indeo 5.10 or something like that....if anything use microsoft AVI...it will at least give you the right idea. if that doesnt help let me know...and ill give you better instructions tomorrow when im at work. _________________ huh?....what?....merchant marines?
