wouldn't that be a sweet trick to throw down? I think so too. I'm gonna learn it. So, how do I do it?

i tried my first few toeside raleys last time we went out, (which was like over 2 weeks ago ). But the key is to take a progressive cut, not nearly as progressive as a hs raley, but really kick it when youre about 5 ft. from the wake. it will whip back behind you and is pretty easy to get back beneath you. My problem is we normally ride 65 ft. (or used to) and it was the first day we rode 75 - not enough weight in the boat to keep the wake as solid back there. I would get the board back under me, land then pop the handle. Gonna try and shorten the rope up to 70 probably next time we go and land it. Then back to 75 ft. Tricks float so much better back there _________________ http://www.wakepics.com/view_single.php?medid=16993 one of few trips i got to make to the lake this year |

on the approach, are you leaning way the hell over on your toes, (like you do on your heels on a hs raley) How is the pop off the wake? Do you hold that same crazy ass edge all the way through the wake? _________________ The consciousness of self is the greatest hindrance to the proper execution of all physical action.

i do them off a kicker on the cable, so i couldnt really help ya much...but i can say, dont look down when your throwing it, when your trowing it, look straight ahead, at the tower or the horizon, that helps. when i was first learning them i wasnt looking fowards, so i would do it, then go into scarecrow, but as soon as i started looking striaght foward i didnt flip foward....hope that helps ya a little |

waht all can you do?
I think I remembered you talking about having trouble with scarecrows and showing a video awhile back...
can you do any inverts toeside?
I only ask because you really need to have a good ts edge and pop ability to expect to learn a toeside raley...
also - im assuming you can do hs raleys... _________________ http://www.wakepics.com/view_single.php?medid=16993 one of few trips i got to make to the lake this year |

All I gotta say is throwing a toeside raley and landing a toeside raley are in two different ballparks so be careful. You gotta have a very strong release to lay out and pull the board back under you on a toeside jump. And you will get roughed up pretty bad if you come up short. |

good call Jim, I never did dig the nose when I tried - but I needed half a second more of hang time to be able to pull it down...
vip - not that I know of, but it would probablyu be easier to do a ts s-bend 5 - also miht be kind of hard to distinguish it from just a big laid out scarecrow... _________________ http://www.wakepics.com/view_single.php?medid=16993 one of few trips i got to make to the lake this year |

Actually, wouldn't it be a BS spin? That would be really weird looking. I've never seen or heard of it. Pretty tight if you ask me. |

I think it was a hoochie krypt... ts hoochie would be a good bit harder landing...
bigtimer - youre right, its funny how backside and frontside change with heelside and toeside . _________________ http://www.wakepics.com/view_single.php?medid=16993 one of few trips i got to make to the lake this year |

He opens up and pulls it down to hs so yeah its a hoochie krypt. Just like how a ts krypt is easier than a ts raley. ..not that I have to worry about it |

a'ight, this is an old post, but I still want to learn this, so if you have any advice, maybe step-by-step or something, that would be sweet... _________________ The consciousness of self is the greatest hindrance to the proper execution of all physical action.

just cut in hard and lean on your front foot, this should kick the board behind you and then pull it down |

to do a batwing, just cut out wide and drift into the wake. about 5 feet before the wake, start to edge hard. at the top of the wake, have a lot of weight on ur front foot and try to push the board back away from you. grab the board when it is behind. just pull the handle to ur right butt cheek to bring it back down. _________________ don't think about it, just do it |

hey the way to do a toeside raley is very easy, take a scarecrow approach to the wake the only thing you should think about when hitting the wake is pushing off the wake with equal amount of weight on both feet, and it will be the same feel as a raley. But really just think about pushing off hard with weight on both feet at the top of the wake that is what will throw you straight up!

yeah, I've been wakeboarding all year several times a week. I'm landing ts backrolls, scarecrows, frontrolls, and ts roll to reverts. _________________ The consciousness of self is the greatest hindrance to the proper execution of all physical action.

dont try to force it back behind you right off the wake, bring it up in front of you chest and atleast grab the board if only for a second. If you do it correctly, much like a raley - it won't take much to get it back under you. Learning it can suck if you dig the nose and get slapped on your side, but you can really make them look good...
good luck, let us know how your attempts go.. _________________ http://www.wakepics.com/view_single.php?medid=16993 one of few trips i got to make to the lake this year |
