I had that exact same problem. Make sure you've got the handle with your front hand before you let go with your back hand during the handle pass. To do this, I had to really concentrate hard on connecting behind my my back. |

At leaast you got that down I always go off axis in the air, how do you stay on axis. For the handle pass try doing backside 180's that will help. _________________ I Love The Smell of Butta In The Morning |

WakeTech, if you're going off axis, you're most likely spinning off the wake. Wait until after you pop to pull the rope.
steelbrit, to get the handle in closer, you have to pull it with both hands to your back hip before letting go with your front hand. |

steelbrit, sounds like what you might want to try is practiceing some handle passes.
take a old handle and tie it to a milk jug filled with sand or dirt. then practice handle passes. sounds like you might have some problems with muscle memory, and this just might help. also it will definitely help out your handle passes.
and if your popping the handle beind your back, its beacuse your not pulling it to your back hip before going for the 3. think of breaking it down into 2 tricks, first you have your fronside normal 180, then you have the second switch BS 180. you can try and practice the switch bs 180, it might help. _________________ wakeboards

make sure you pull the handle to your hip with both hands to begin the spin. I had the same problem when I was learning them. then someone told me to pull with both hands. now I hardly ever miss a handle pass. the only exception to this is if you are going to grab. _________________ Does this rag smell like chloroform?

as you ride up the wake pull the handle at your waist, keep the handle close, knuckles at your hip, turn your head and watch the horizon. _________________ yes, i work for a dealer so everything i say doesnt count |

take a progressive edge to the wake, and make sure you get good pop before you spin....spinning to soon is what most people mess up on, i usually bring my knees up somewhat, and pass the handle right below my back, main thing is just keep the handle in close and spot your landing.......try not to think about it to much, you gotta get the feeling for it. i also used to walk around my house with a handle in my hand and practiced my handle passes......you can also use the old trampoline and tie your rope to a tree or a pole or anything really and practice spins on that. _________________ 2005 premier w/ byerly bindings, 2003 parks w/ '03 parks bindings |
