Nearing completion of project #1 on the new boat. The box will house a 12" Kicker sub. Some final cleanup yet to do, but you get the idea.

Looks good Phat, however, the 205 x-2 needs weight in the bow. That's where we put our fat sac.

Bam... all the sacs will be underneath the bow seats. Already got it all planned out. Besides, with the sub up there I'm thinking the bow will become popular seating for the free 'massage'. Laughing

How much weight can you run under the seats with just sacks? They're aren't that deep.

We throw the sac in the walk way and have another 150 lbs of lead up front and that's perfect for us. (500 lbs) A buddy likes about 700 up front in his. If you can only get 200-300 pounds I don't know if that's enough for that boat. We find that the weight in the bow is key.

Did you use MDF? If so did you treat it with an epoxy or something to prevent water absorbtion?

I regularly ride behind a buddy's X and he only uses bags under the seats, which probably equates to 350ish lbs..... wake is fine for our needs. You guys might require bigger, tho. Guess it's all preference.

Wallrat...it's basically 5/8" plywood. It's sealed with caulk at all seams, inside and out. The entire exterior is sealed with epoxy and the top and majority of the sides are also fiberglassed.

I finally got everything wired up last night and it hits pretty hard...for my ears. You'll definitely have to keep a lid on whatever sits in those cupholders and anything carbonated will explode! Cool

Bam...what SuprAir said. I'm modeling our ballast setup like the X he's talking about. It's plenty for us. Besides, I think the bow will now be the favorite seat in the boat...vibrating chair style!

We just find the boat handles way better with a little more weight in the bow is all. If we have 6-8 people in the boat we don't even have to fill our back tanks up. Here's our wake with the set up I just said.

7 people in the boat
350 sack in the walk way
150 pounds of lead in the bow.
back tanks empty

not the greatest pic but you get the idea.

Looks great! I'd love to do that as well for my 00X

what sacks do you run under the bow seats? I was thinking of getting a waterbed mattris manufactuerer to make one that would fit all the way under all the seats(including the nose)

Dizzy...I have left over side sacs that I will run for now, but may get custom made down the road.
I asked one of the custom ballast shops about making a "V" sac to go under the seats as you described, but unfortunately they don't do it. One of the sac manufacturers should get on that (anyone listening?).

Boarders Paradise has someone to make custom wedge sacs. You spec dimensions, 2 filler locations, and color.
