It depends on whether or not your tramp is located in plain view to anyone who might happen to drive by and decide to go for a jump, break a femur, and then decide to sue you for not keeping his sorry rear off a tramp he shouldn't have been on in the first place. I think the nets are kind of dumb, but talk to the homeowners insurance people for the house it will be at first. If they say it will look like less of a liability to them then maybe it would be a good investment.

Oh and when you do call the insurance people, give them someone elses name and claim the entire situation is "just hypothetical".

Jello John, I was wondering the same thing. They aren't that tall. And it looks like you only get to F-up once. They look pretty flimsy and would bend or break after you smash into it once.

I think the whole point of them is kind of a safety net for small kids. Don't waste your money otherwise.
As far as others coming into your back yard and using the tramp, put an electric fence around your yard Twisted Evil Wink

I'm guessing by reading all of these responses that NONE of you have ever jumped on a tramp with a net.

I used to think a net would tangle me up and hurt me even worse, but when I flew off the tramp and knocked myself out I figured it was worth a try.

The very first time I flew into the net out of control it was worth the money to avoid falling off and landing on my head. As far as durability mine has lasted 3 years and I'm a big guy. My buddy who is 6'6" and 230 lands in the net alot more often than I do and doesn't tear it up. You can jump above the net, but to jump out you would have to be trying really hard.

A net will give the confidence and safety to try any new move. I couln't even count how many times I've overrotated and ended up with my head at the bottom of the net stopping just inches from smacking my head against the metal frame of the tramp.

Think about this: WHICH IS CHEAPER?
a hospital visit with a CAT scan vs. a Net
Some kid breaking his arm and suing you/your parents vs. a Net

I've been on tramps before with nets like that ^, and everything ATLwake wake said is true. I've seen someone go flying over it once, but he was body checked on a huge double bounce. Normally, you can't get anywhere near hoigh enough to go over.
