Posted: Feb 23, 2003 7:16 am Post subject: Garage Clearance for Super Air |
|
|
I am going to order a 2003 Super Air Nautique. The dealer told me that the boat on a tandem-axle Ramlin trailer requires 83" of clearance to fit into the garage (designed that way since standard garages are 84").
The garage at my place is only about 81.5" high. Do you have any suggestions on what I can do to get it to fit? All I need is to lower it an inch and a half! Can I have smaller wheels put on the trailer? Hydraulics? I could possibly order a different tower that folds lower, but I really like the FCT.
Any ideas? I would really like to put this thing in my garage. |

hmmmm i would say nautique on aire bags would be baddass but kinda weird to u should to that then pimp out ur truck wirh like 20's both on ur truck and trailer then bag both of them. that would be sweet like just sitting there waiting to load at the ramp and just slam that stuff to the ground awwwwww that would be badass _________________ "We forget in life that we are not human beings living a spritual experience, but spritual beings living a human experiance."

my sante measures 84.5" high. 1.5" too high! i was planning on putting smaller wheels for winter storing so it whould fit. that seems to be the only reasonable solution. _________________ k. |

| if you will only be storing in the garage for the winter you could deflate the tires to back it in. that should give you about 3 more in. i would air them back up once in the garage though. also you might try a drop hitch to lower the boat as much as possible in the front. you might be able to get and inch or two that way also. |

For just an inch and a half i would mess with the suspension, probably the easiest and cheapest way to fix it. What kind of suspension does the trailer have? Also, maybe you could put a bunch of weight in it to get it through the opening, assuming that's the lowest point.

let some air out of the tires!!!
or if you're buying it new you can probably tell the trailer manufacturer you wnat your trailer to sit a little lower. it shouldnt cost much more. |

| Does anybody have an 02-03 Super Air on a different trailer (other than Ram-lin)? I hear that Prestige trailers may sit lower and only require 80" of clearance. Anybody out there have measurements on a Pretige, Eagle, BoatMate, etc? Thanks. |
