|
|
After towing the Epic 22 back from a wakeboarding trip last weekend, we noticed a bunch of minor cracks in the hull.
We had tied the boat to a dock for a few hours, so the cracks might be caused by the boat smacking the dock because of a big wave. We'll have to add more rubber guards for protection next time. Could hitting the dock have caused these cracks?
Also, what can we do to fix this? Is it serious enough to fix, or should we just leave it?

| They look like they are from hitting the pier, and no your boat does not need to be repaired. The cracks you have are just cosmetic, but if your anal about the boat, then yes, pick someone with a good name for glass work. Bad glass work will look worse then the cracks.

Not sure if they are from impact or not but it is very possible.
I'm sure you'll want to repair those before selling the boat.

| they are probably from the dock but when i had my 84 ski nautique and the stringers went bad my, the weight of my engine cuased little stress fractures in the gell coat. I dont know if your boat has wood stringers or not but its somethin to watch out for. had to have all mine replaced.
