I tinted my supra and the only problem w/ visibility is the sun reflecting off the white dash onto the inside of the windshield. Driving at night is not much problem. I have the jumpseat on the drivers side so I can sit up higher and look over the windshield. When I pull on a busy lake I always look over the windshield anyway. For the "Bling" factor it looks really cool. I dont mind the probs associated. Go for it....if you dont like it take it off after the season.

03belmont - you're right, for the most part you are standing while driving @ night. I do like to be able to duck below my windshield for the occassional rain storm though. It does look really sweet w/ 'em tinted...chuck - you have any pics of your supra w/ the tint?

That nauti pic has some pretty dark tint. I think it looks cool too but I would make it lighter. I have seen it on the xstar before and it looks awesome.

Visibility at night is obviously harder, but then we can't drive any faster than idle past dusk anyways. It is definitely worth it for the amount of time you spend in the sun (98%).

I've driven Raider Lefty's several times and have never had a problem seeing through it. Although like 03Belmont said, most of the time I am looking over it. Even on untinted windows, I just like to be higher up so I can see more.

Raider Lefty - First weekend over 75F, we got a shoot pending with "hot" standby waiting. I'm boat boy for the model boat, Rob is towel/lotion boy so you need to make up a job for you and watch the weather Smile

DIY GUYS TAKE NOTE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i use to tint windows by trade, and it is not easy to tint a curved window, just take your time and you will need a heat guy and baby powder and a damp chamois or terry cloth, make sure you put the tint on the outside first sticky side out, and heat the tint before you make your cuts, if you guys want me to i will post a step by step with pics on how to do it the right way...

This is my second boat with a tinted windshield. I went with 20% and I think it is great. This time I had a logo cut out of red and chrome tint added to the center pane. You can see right throught the graphic and it is a little different.

Here's another nice looking one. I wish I had the full size image w/o the breaks in the lines from shrinking it.

Mike, You shouldn't pay more than $200. My tint guy did mine for $145.

That first Picture (the nauti) is my boytoys (core-rider) boat. I want to say the tint is 2.5% it matches the tint on the truck.

like pretty much everyone on here we dont have a problem with the tint being too dark only becouse most of the time whomever is driving is looking over the windshield. The tint being that dark is nice for riding at dusk towards the sun.

Jason tinted it himself. i think it only took him a few hours to do.

So what is considered a light tint? 5%? 2%? 10%?

The lower the number the darker the tint. 2.5% is ALOT darker than 35%

the percent is how much light is let through i believe.

100% is not tint

2 % lets barely any light through so it is a darker tint
