This is the first expieremental board I've built, just because I was bored and had no money. I know what materials I SHOULD use, but I dont know a good shape. Next time I will make it a little longer, probably close to 140 but I'm not sure what kind a rocker, maybe three stage. I weigh 200lbs so Ill need the extra legth, and I'm not very good. Any comments to help me out with the fins, rocker, shape, size, ect.. would be very helpful.
P.S. This one worked pretty good, but I damaged it on the water from one of my painting errors.

Great job! How much rocker is on that board, from the one picture against the wall it looks like quite a bit.

Is that a solid piece of wood or wood laminate around MDF?
That's gotta be super heavy, still it's really cool! How does it ride?

Yeah I accidentally got quite a bit of rocker on it, but it still rides fine. I'll do a better job on my next one.
And coreym, its three pieces of 1/4" plywood, sanded down to be more flexible, then bent and glued together, the glue holds the bend. Then the fins are just a block of wood I spent some time with on the sander and bandsaw as welll. What can I say, my dad owns a cabinet shop. And its not as heavy as you would think.

pyrocasto,
Nice work, I have made of couple of wood boards to test different shapes before making a foam core board. It takes some time. What type of glue did you use, and did use wood screws to hold them together to get a tight bond?

pyrocasto, I've done a bunch of woodworking, and I was wondering how did you make all the fins the same shape? Whenever I try to make two identical things on the sander, they end up very different. Also, how did you attach them to the board? Did you use a joint, or just screw/bolt them on?

bluefish86, I just spent some time on the fins, getting them best I could. As for attatching them, I used a strong wood glue, and tacked them on there with a pin nail gun, and then some type of putty/bondo type filler, to make some curve off the fin.
