ok ive heard this different ways.on the cwb wakeboarding made easy video it said to keep your arms straight and low but some people on here said to keep your arms in and by your hips.in the last wbm in the instructional part showing you how to do a 180 it looks like his elbows are by his sides. but in the videi in one of the fourms titled "new video pro levil rideing"his arms were strait out.good video.so what should you do?and in the instructional in wbm on the 540 his legs were bent and some people on here said to keep them straight.what does standing tall at the wake actually mean?just standing straight up?and edging through the wake?just edje until you get air?
i can do 180s and grabs and stuff but im really going to push my self this year and want to learn all of this before this weekend .i might be going wakeboarding |

on the progressive edge you want to keep ur arms straight and lean against the boat. standing tall at the wake means just that...stand as tall as possible at the peak of the wake and make sure your hardest cut is at the wake and edge all the way through it. pretty soon youll be launching huge airs. hope this helps. late _________________ ride to live, live to ride

| If you are just doing a progressive edge but with no tricks or anything, I think you should keep the handle at your waist because your waist is your center of gravity. |

Guys that ride as good as the ones you see in the vids are usually pulling a trick so they need to have the handle out a little bit so they can pull it in while in the air to initiate the spin or gain some slack in the line for a mad poke or something..
WB mag did a great article about this a few months back. It was called "Style on the Brain" or something like that. Each rider has their own style and they don't necessarily do the tricks with 100% perfect form. They add their style to it, so it's not always best to mimic the Pro's, in the beginning anyway.
They specifically picked on Watson and I'll use him as an example as I ride very similar to his style (with a lot less skills). They showed how Watson approaches the wake for a TS 5 all hunched over and loosy goosy, Pointing out that was NOT proper form. They then showed that when he actually leaves the wake he has corrected his form. When you are good you can make these corrections with out even thinking about it, it's part of their STYLE.
I personally look at the women's sections in the vids for their tendencies. They are more at the basic level and for the most part all initiate tricks the same way. IMO -It's much easier to learn a trick by watching it in it's purest form i.e. no style added.
Disclaimer - this does not mean girls don't have style it's just less apparent. _________________ PEACE
