Well the Spring tune-up and oil change are done. Motor's purring like a cat. Two projects left on my to do list:

1. Install float switch on bilge pump
2. Replace flame arrestor with K&N

Anyone have experience with either of these? It looks like the K&N is taller than my stock arrestor by a couple of inches. Other than engine hatch clearance is there anything else I should be aware of?

Install float switch on bilge pump

We had to do that last summer... our other one went out.... IMO the best one to get is a pump with an internal float switch... less to install...

My current pump is just a simple on/off. I wouldn't mind replacing it, but I don't want to have to run any new wires back to the switch. Did y'all run have to run new wires or were you able to use the existing ones?

my bilge died last summer. It still tried to pump when the float switch turned it on, but it wouldn't let anything come out. I figured this one out when the battery was totally dead after a week sitting inthe boat house. It had been trying to pump that water out...I'm glad the pump was in the water so it didn't start a fire.
