Put them where they are the most comfortable. You can try different angles on them, too.

| I have heard that putting your bindings out all the way will help your balance. I'm going to try that next time I go boarding and see if it works. But like Lisa said, put them where they are most comfortable, try some different angles and widths. Right now I have mine one from all the way out and slightly ducked. |

I have mine all the way out and ducked, it does help balance because you can bring your center of gravity lower on hard landings and having them ducked is also easier on your knees. The best way to tell how to have your bindings is to jump from like a counter or soemthing and see how your feet land, that should give you some idea. But its harder for girls to have their bindings all the way out because ideally they should be shoulder width apatr or just a little wider. Try different ways, see whats comfy. _________________ If it didn't hurt it wasn't worth tryin |

If you put them all the way out and duck them it will keep your chest out easier and help on your cuts. Its like doing squats, could you do them with your feet close together and with no angle as easy? Nope. Your cut position is similar to that of squats, except your aslo leaning. <--- Straight from Mr. Murray _________________ Sliding Glass...It's what we do.

Widening your stance will help your balance, but I do think it is possible to go too wide. When you do that, it's not comfortable, it hurts your knees and it isn't fun (I normally take hour long sets so comfort is key). Part of your stance width normally depends on your height, but right now it seems "cool" to have the widest stance. The bottom line is as a female, don't base your width on what the guys are riding. I ride a 136 and I have my stance set up 1 hole in....if I go all the way out, it's too wide (and even then, it's still pretty wide. I can tell you that my snowboard stance is a tad bit narrower than my wakeboard stance. The two activities aren't the same and for me, when I go too wide on a snowboard I lose power when I carve around). In my opinion, start your stance out at shoulder width or a tad wider and see how things go from there.
As for angles, that's also more about personal preference. For me, it's not comfortable to have my bindings set up at 0...I go with something close to my snowboard stance because it feels right, which sets my front foot up somewhere around 30 degrees and my back foot around 15. Don't be afraid to play around and see what works and feels best for you because it IS about the feeling. Good luck! _________________ J.L.A. Is Snowboarding
