Well I dunno I just feel like talking about weapons. Since Broccoli B and I were discussin firearms somewhere else. I just wanted to know who else shoots, hunts, or collects.

-I favor my Berretta 9, have done most of my target practice with it. Great feel, and hey, it's a classic.

-S&W 357 stainless, with 6" barrel,

-Benelli 12 guage, ducks unlimited edition. Never been fired. My dad got it from a close family friend, and chose to keep it as a collectible. Now I have it, and plan the same.

-Browning 30-06, if ya have to ask what this one's for you probably need to leave.

Would like to get an MP5, or SAW.

muckmeister, Benelli. Exactly. But it's a Duck's Unlimited special edition. The stock and neck have been custom engraved with wood ducks and the DU signature. It's a beautiful peice. It came in a custom wood box with padded places for the gun when it's broken down. Like a nice display case when you open it. It even has slots for cleaning tools and 4 shots.

It's already about 15 years old. It will be worth a ton in another 40 years.

Buy-back program brings in 247 guns

Published December 14, 2005

LAKE COUNTY -- There are 247 fewer guns in Lake County this week, after residents traded unwanted firearms for $50 gift certificates to local retailers.

The fourth gun buy-back program in five years, held last weekend, was sponsored by Lake County Crime Stoppers, the Lake County Chiefs of Police and the Lake County Metropolitan Enforcement Group.

"By conducting such operations, law enforcement enables the community to play an active role in getting unwanted guns off the street and out of the hands of potential wrongdoers, by reducing the number of firearms in circulation," Sheriff Gary Del Re said.

Metropolitan Enforcement Group Deputy Director Keith Frederick, whose agency is responsible for collecting and disposing of the weapons, said hunting rifles, semi-automatic weapons, World War II pistols, Russian handguns, black-powder guns and many revolvers were turned in.

The weapons will be taken Downstate and destroyed, Frederick said.

I am sure these cops are gonna destroy these black powder pieces.

				| I carry a Para Ordnance P12-45LDA everywhere with me. I generally target shoot with a Kimber Custom 45, a Colt 45 Gold Cup Edition, a S&W 357 Magnum, or a Taurus Raging Bull. My next purchase will be probably be a Wilson Combat Protector Series. I live by my dad's motto on handguns "9's and 40's are for sissies and queers, nut up and shoot a real gun."

really, you dont like the 40?

they seem all the rage lately, agree on the 9, but the 40?

and on some the 40 and 357 will interchange, ie glocks

				Depends on the use.

If it's an every day personal carry, very few want the weight. I've never understood cops that wanted anything bogger than a snub nose or a Ploice Model like a Walther or Astra 380.

For any of you guys that carry guns....Do you ever get really, really pissed? I mean seeing red pissed? Ever seriously considered driving a truck through someones house?

Always wondered with my personality how you handle the easy access issue.

Muckmeister, my dad's other motto that I live by is "If it's made out of plastic, you sure as hell don't want to trust your life with it." Now before all of the Glock lovers start bashing me, my dad was a dealer for a long time and we are big on traditional style 1911's and revolvers. It's nothing personal. I am a 45 guy, through and through. It's all I own and all I carry. The revolvers in the above post are my dad's, so I shoot them on occasion.

Leggester, if I was a cop I'd be carrying the most powerful gun I could find, i.e. a 45 or even the Raging Bull. To hell with weight, I want stopping power.

				| lcap, I don't ever really get "seeing red" pissed. I stay pretty much level all of the time. As far as the easy access issue, if you have to wonder you are probably better off without.

Muck, why? 80% of cops never pull a weapon during their tenure.

Besides, what can a 45 do a 380 cannot? Go through an engine block? I'd guess that's not a real high value target.

Classic ugly American post right here! I love it.

It's like passing my favorite road side gas station in Montana. It's got a big sign saying BATE & BOOZE sold here.

You go into the store and it's got ever box of Amo ever made as well, so I asked the guy working there why they didn't have Amo on the sign as well. His reply was "everyone sells Amo, its just a given, so there's no need to put it on the sign".

				| Most tests I have seen rate the 380 lower than a 9mm, since a 380 is essentially a shorter version 9mm round. Not to mention that the 380 has generally been shown to have by far the lowest stopping of most widely bought guns. That is why I want a 45, not a piddly 380.

I own a bunch of guns and I'm very much in favor of the right to bear arms....but you guys sound like a bunch of tools. I'm reading some of your posts in either the comic book guy from the simpson's voice, or with a spit-laden retainer lisp.

brew, I prefer my 9 to the big bores. I am extremely quick and accurate with it. It doesn't have the recoil those 45's do, so I can group them pretty well. Which for me is a crucial. Because hell, if I gotta pull it, unload it.

I do agree with you on the glocks. I am not a fan.

AZMXER, awesome.

cameraboy, and your arguing about some hippie debate doesn't make you sound like a tool.
