I ride a helix 139 with the long base fin. It's a 2001. I like it a lot. I prefer my Harris, though, but in water with even a little bit of chop, I break out the Helix.
I like it because it is easy to break loose, it has good pop, and it's an all around great board. They market it for riders with "a tail heavy approachf", but I don't really ride with that much weight on the tail, and I like it just fine. I think that is mostly marketing.
Whereas my Harris feels like it is cutting through the water, the Helix feels more like it rides on top of water it is churning up. Does that make sense? _________________ I walk 47 miles of barb wire, I got a cobra snake for a necktie, a brand new house up on the road side, and it's made out of rattlesnake hide |
