Does anyone own/ have any opinions them? How's the signal? I don't really want to spend a few hundred bucks for static when CD's are just fine.

Well I added one to my truck and love it. I was tired of constantly searching from station to station only to listen to comercials and have heard all my DC's a thousand times. I have not decided to put in my new boat yet. Good Luck.

The dealer mentioned the antenna could always go on our tower.

Mad

Enough said.

Jeffery, Here is where I mounted mine. I used a tower speaker clamp with a few modification to mount it.

Suprisingly enough I think that attena on the tower looks alright. I thought it would give off a cluttered look but it looks just fine. Maybe it's because of the white attena against the white tower.

What kind of boat is that?

Its a 2002 Centurion Avalanche. I would have put it on top of the tower but in order to get my boat in the garage I have to take the tower of completely. It is still in a good place. Reception is great. Good luck with you project.

XM came in my 04 Yukon XL for 2 months free. I figured I'd give it a shot, but probably not be willing to pay the $120/year to keep it... I love it and did definitely find it worth the $120/year. Killer tunes all the way from OC to Parker, AZ.

I haven't bought the unit for my boat yet...I guess that will be next. That antenna is a little obnoxious though...I like the one on my rig better.

i cant even remembered when the last time i burnt a CD for myself to listen to. XM has a station for exactly what you are wanting to hear, that i dont need CDs.

when people ask me why i would pay for radio when i can get it for free, i ask them the same questions about TV. yeah, it is that much difference between reg. radio and satellite radio =)

If you have never heard xm radio I suggest you do. It is great espically when your out on your boat and you can't get FM reception. CD's get old after a while but xm is always on. I cant imagine how I got along without it. I have it in my car, boat and home. There is always someting to listen to and your selection is better than any AM or FM channel. Just my opinion.

I have lost signal twice (for about 10 seconds) over the last 3 months. The only thing I don't like about XM is the pause (maybe about 1 second) from station to station. Come to think of it, I also don't like 15 Folk or 16 Bluegrass...

Anyone have the XM competition - Surius or whatever it's called? Just wonder how it compares.

GYMBOARDER, What brand of tower clamp is that, and how exactly did you modify it all to work?

I had XM and Now I have sirius. I prefer sirius to XM because of the sports Packages, Especially with the NFL for 2004. Both sound great. Sirius is $2.95 more a month. Never a Drop out of signal that I noticed.

xm is awesome. i have it in my truck. my new boat will be serius ready so I guess i will check it out as well. the service is awesome. the only issues i can see would be in places like lake powell where in areas, the canyon walls are so high that you line of site to the southern sky could be blocked but that would be about all. overall it rocks though.
