hey, I am looking at buying a 2000 Supra Launch. It's a pretty clean boat with about 300 hours on it. Teh problem is I have never towed behind one, and I am pretty unfamiliar with a Supra. If anyone can give me some insight I would greatly appreciate it. Cheers.

Hey, did you find this on Ebay? I almost bought a 2000 Launch I found on Ebay with 300 hours on the engine. Is the boat in Kentucky or Indiana? I'm wondering if it's the same boat. _________________ I walk 47 miles of barb wire, I got a cobra snake for a necktie, a brand new house up on the road side, and it's made out of rattlesnake hide |

I'm not a Supra owner, nor have I ever been one either, but I rode behind an '03 Launch SSV this summer loaded down with 700 lbs in cement, full internal ballast, 1000 lbs in fat sacs, and 1000 lbs of people. Result: a killer wake, and after months of this, a blown motor. But it was all under warranty so they didn't care. _________________

| I love my Supra, but when you buy used it greatly depends on how this boat is taken care of. Have you seen this boat in person or taken a ride in it? |

If it's the same boat, it has some hull blistering and a pretty bad gouge below the waterline. That's why I turned it down. I think it's the same boat. The guy is asking around 22K, right? It's a 2000 with 03 graphics put on, and it's white with blue trim, right? _________________ I walk 47 miles of barb wire, I got a cobra snake for a necktie, a brand new house up on the road side, and it's made out of rattlesnake hide |

I looked at that boat as well. If you want to PM me I can send you all the emails the owner sent me about it. I never looked at it in person so cannot comment on it first hand. But all the pictures were strategically taken to now show the bottom of the hull, which is why I wouldn't persue it...especially for a long distance purchase.

| I just read my old emails for good measure. It also took until the 4th detailed message to have the gelcoat problem admitted. So that left a very sour taste in my mouth. |

Yup, I think that's the guy. I sent him an email specifically asking about the gelcoat so I could sue his ass if the boat showed up with blisters, and then he came clean. _________________ I walk 47 miles of barb wire, I got a cobra snake for a necktie, a brand new house up on the road side, and it's made out of rattlesnake hide |

Badaducci,
The answer to quality of a 2000 Launch is very good. Its too bad there is one out there with blistered gel. I've heard that if you take a new boat and leave it in the water such as over the summer that can cause blistering but im not an expert on that. If anyone knows for sure please post back cause i'd like to know. Ive seen the post on that boat and there must be a reason it is priced 5k less than others and hasnt sold. I know it only has a carb and no EFI.
I have two friends (brothers) that are both very good riders whose parents bought a 2000 Launch new. It has been used alot with alot of ballast and it still looks and performs great, still very solid, no wood and the wake is one of the BEST.
I feel like an insurance agent at a wake but I cant pass this one up. I have a 2001 Launch for sale to get an 04. You can see the video here.

Its got a heater and I got a drysuit and I'll let you try out the wake! I dont need much of an excuse to talk me into ridding. Good Luck _________________ Life is too short

I rode behind a supra launch last summer and the wake was sick. probably the best I've ever been behind. I'v ridden behind air nautiques, x stars, 21v's and I would ride behind a supra anyday. _________________ Does this rag smell like chloroform?

I agree - Supra rocks. Many people say the Launch DD is the best DD wakeboat available; when weighted properly it kicks up as big of wakes as the SSV.
Good luck. You can't go wrong with Supra, um unless their is gel coat blisters that is. |
