I ordered to my spec a portable garage to fit my 01 Supra Launch. 14 foot peek roof starting at 10 foot x 12 wide x 25 lenght. from www.salesco.com cost me about $950 shipped to my door. I got what I paid for and it works. Good Luck.

Thanks Jeffro,

If y'all or in Texas y'all say all y'all, use one of these I strongly urge you to use mobile home strength anchors. I learned this the hard way cause I lost a little one in a 50mph wind. I did not take a chance this big one. Good Luck

I acctually was shopping for dry storage out near the lake. I orginally lease a stall that was over 15ft tall but the door was only 9. The guy also has one with a 15 ft peek with a 10'8" entry. I thnk that shoudl work.

Thanks for the info.

When I was looking for storage for my XLV, I measured it, and it was basically 10 ft tall .. so I went with a 12 ft tall door, to not take any chances.

Yes, the towers do fold, just not as easy as past Moomba towers. There is a quick release knob, but then you have to unscrew a bolt with an allen wrench to fold the tower forward.

I think now they come with a knob instead of having to use an allen wrench. At least the ones i've seen.

I can confirm that my XLV requires no tools. There is no bolt to unscrew with an allen wrench, just two screws with knobs that you unscrew by hand. It really isn't a huge deal, although that tower is pretty beefy and heavy.

I think it sits about 7'4" with tower folded ... so I guess plan on 7'6".

Schmo ... I have folded the tower once. There are 2 knobs (one on each side) that I removed, and expected the tower to fold at the front joint, where the hinge looking thing is. But it didn't, I had to remove the bolt on the lower half of that joint to get it to fold. And at that joint, there was no knob, it was a bolt, with an allen head on it ... did I miss something?

That sure sounds wrong. You don't have to do that with mine, nor the few others that I have seen. The only thing I have to do to lower mine is take out those two big hand screws and then pull the tower forward.

Maybe you should ask your dealer about that since that seems like a huge hassle if you have to do it often.

All of our XLVs that are in stock have the locking bolt in the front hinge. It is a small hassle to have to use an allen wrench, but it does add strength to the tower. The XLV towers on our boats here are very stout.

Thanks Marty, I knew I wasn't smoking rock that day. Chris Rinker even helped me that day, and I know we had to take that bolt out for a reason. Do some not come with the locking bolt?

Yes, do tell as mine does not have the locking bolt and neither did a couple others. Did they just start adding those to improve on the performance of the tower? It just seems odd to have a tooless bolt in there and then have another that requires a tool. If you can't get the whole job done without tools, why bother making one of them capable of being removed by hand?

Mine doesn't have the locking bolt but the tower seems quite sturdy without it.

I have alerted Rick and Matt about this post, and hopefully they will respond soon to give the exact answers. I am not exactly sure if that bolt is new, or has always been there, but our first XLV was #11 and it had the locking bolt in the hinge. We just received XLV #61 and it has them as well.

Neil, all of the Supra and Moomba trailers are 102 inches wide from guide pole to guide pole with the exception of the Supra Launch and the Moomba XLV. Both of those boats are 3 inches wider than the others in the line, so I would assume the trailer is 105 to 106 inches wide.

Thanks

McFly

the XLV trailer is also 102 inches in width .. the boat is widest near the windshield and she tapers towards the transom ..

I will try to clear up some confusion on the XLV tower hinge. The XLV and new Launch towers use similar hinges for the tower joint. The very first XLV towers (first couple) did not have the locking bolt in the hinge. We then found that we needed to add the locking bolt on the Launch hinge to aid in tower installation here at the plant. We also thought it might help installation on the XLV tower. We went with the locking bolt on the XLV tower, but we also found that it was cumbersome to fold the tower. We slightly modified the internals of the hinge and no longer needed the locking bolt on the hinge. For the last couple of months we have been installing towers without the locking bolt. I apologize to those that have the hinges with locking bolts and realize that it is not as convenient as those without. The good thing is we are listening and agree and the current towers do not have the bolt that has to be removed with an allen wrench.

Also, zeke is correct and all our boats are 102" on a trailer. That is the maximum width in most states.

Well that clears it up. My dealer, Atlanta Marine, sold me one of the first ones they got that had some hours on it because it was said to be one of your brochure/press boats (blue one featured on web site, they also had a GG Games boat that they said was the actual GG Games boat). I assume that it was probably one of those first ones that didn't have the locking bolt.
