| Just get a normal Bimini and cut a slit in it and put velcro on either side. I had mine done when I got my boat. Not sure where the dealer took it but they didnt do it in house. |

| Any automotive or marine upholstry shop will do the job for around $50. |

i also had a local canvas top making shop do mine. I cut the hole in it and tried to sew it myself but i didn't work. I took it to them and they sandwiched a reinforcment patch on it and i just glued the fabric together and it worked fine. It was cheap too. _________________ www.hyperlite.com

We had a pylon before our air and we just cut a hole in the bimini. It worked just fine. _________________ Liquid Force

thanks for the info. My mother is a seamstress, so she can probably do the modification.
one other question. Looking at overtons site, I see 2 bow, 3 bow, and 4 bow biminis, but cant quite tell what the difference is. Any suggestions as to what I should get? |

| the number of bows is the number of rods that go through the bimini top. i have a 3 bow and it works just fine. as for the pylon i just took mine to an upholstry shop and the cut a 4" by 10" oval in the top, reinforced the edges and made a velcro flap that goes over the top for $40. I also had them make some matching padded covers for the bars for when the bimini is down so it doesnt scratch up the hull. |

| Can you use the bimini and a board rack at the same time on a pylon? We use the board rack on our pylon and want to add a bimini. |

Make sure your bimini rides low, if you have a board rack mounted on your pole. We didn't have enough clearance between our bimini and the board rack.
Once we got up to speed the canvas started its usual flopping in the wind, which caused rubbing against the wakeboard fins, and eventually holes in the canvas.
A lower bimini would have prevented this. |

I figured the bimini needs to ride pretty low. besides, they look better riding just above the windshield :)
I also figure placement needs to be such that the front of the bimini doesnt interfear with the cable from my pylon, and the back of the bimini should reach to about the front of the engine cover. That way there is room to get to the board racks when I get them.
also, I saw in the overtons catalog (not on the web site) their pylon has an interesting accessory. it has a metal pole that comes out horizontally from the top of the pylon a couple feet. At the end is a loop. The rope goes through the loop at the end of the rod, then attaches to the pylon. This is supposed to keep the rope from hanging up on boards. racks, or even people in the back of the boat. Anyone use something like this? |
