Some people may tell you different, but IMO, that's up to you. Ride some other boards that are bigger or whatever and see what you like better. If they blow yours out of the water, then yes, you need a new one.
I'm 5'9" and I fell more comfortable on a 132-135 myself than a 135-140. _________________

you're at the point of personal preference, at 160lbs, you can comfortably use 135 or a 142. Its just that you're quite tall, so you might feel a better on a longer board. But again thats all personal preference. A board of 135cm can hold 180lbs no problem, so I wouldn't worry about weight.
Try and demo some differant boards and see what you like. _________________ ODPC |

I wouldn't sweat it too much. I'm 5'11" 220, and started on a 140. It was tough to move around a bigger board like that (while I was learning). Then I got a 143 (I'm a little slow on the uptake...) and had to get used to it. Finally found a 138, and I like it quite a bit. I think the board size takes a component of your height and weight, even though most people say it's only your weight. Demo lots and really give each a try. It'll be worth a day on unfamiliar boards and a deposit at the shop. I'm a true nerd, but I even take notes on likes/dislikes. _________________ I'm real nice 'till you piss me off.....so don't piss me off. |

well, can't tell ya personally, im 5'1 and around 120, but i just think it's ypur height and not your weight. i think you should try out some other sizes b4 u buy, but it is all up 2 u. all i no if i have 2 friends over 6'1 that board, and ones on a parks 138, and the other one is on a belmont, just cant member the size. it's all preferance, abnd depends what kinda tricks u is tryin 2 pull! _________________ *wAkEbOaRd NaKeD! iT aDdS cOlOr To YoUr ChEeKs!*

biggest thing i notice when trying out smaller boards is more effort getting out of the water on starts and harder landing impact. they swing around a little easier, but pretty negligible. also shorter boards are harder to grab on the ends. |

Stupid question, but what does IMO stand 4? I've always wondered. _________________

It is all about preference, but just from your height and weight, I'd say that yes, you definitely should try out a 142 and see if that works for you. I'm 5'4" and 125 and I ride a 136. Riding a small slippery board is good for practice because once you get on a bigger board, it'll be so much easier. Bigger boards are much more forgiving. |

i'm 6'1 155 and i just moved up to a 138 from a 135 and IMO it made alot of difference. Borrow a buds board and give it a shot, it won't hurt nothin.

freemotionswinger, in wakeboarding it's all personal preference.
If you get a bigger board, it'll give you more pop but it might be harder to spin in the air (it's what I'm told, I'm not at that point yet). If right now your 135 is submerged in the water and all u can see are the tips of your board; it really doesn't mean that you're too big for it. If you like the feel of a smaller board than stick with it. If you like the feeling of a bigger board than go for it. |

you will get hell of pop off of a bigger board but if you dont watch it you will not be able to controll it but sounds like you got it covered...160lbs _________________ Keep on rockin' in the free world |
