| I believe the barefoot has a chevy 454, while the 2001 has a ford 351. I can only speak for the 2001's wake, I think everyone will agree that it was the best wake in its time, I have one right now. Not sure about the barefoot. |

| I have a Nautique Excel with the 454 in it, which is comparable to the Barefoot and my wake is pretty darn big. I would say comparable in size to my brother-in-laws' '02 SAN TE, BUT definitely not the same pop. I really do like my wake and it is plenty big for the $. I could go spend another $40k and get the TE, but it's just not worth it to me. |

jaysunn,
Yeah, I actually had a couple of offers, but I decided that if I would have sold it, I probably would have went and bought another boat, and probably a more expensive one, too. Besides, I really do like the wake.
The 454 does pretty good on gas mileage. I can run all day strictly wakeboarding on 33 gallons. |

| im going to agree with Ryan. the 2001 one has a sweet wake and the 351 is plenty of motor. |

| I have one and i dont think so, I mean it is compared to a new air nautique or something, but it is 20'. I have no problems with room or getting all my gear in. |

glsurf,
The 2001's are 19 feet but I took out the backseat in mine for more room. In my opinion, the back seat is useless anyways, I just have my friends sit on the floor. Anyways, Without the backseat in the boat, I have more room for 2 fat sacs (one on each side of the engine cover towards the back) and 200lbs in lead in the bow. Add about 4-6 people in the boat with their gear and it's a nice wake. I've ridden both wakes and I like the shape of the 2001 much better. If you have a tower with board racks on the boat, it helps make the boat even more roomier. Hope that helps. |

I guess the boats are very similar. Is the 2001 a V-Drive?
I do have a tower and racks and it does help tremendously. I actually have about 550 pounds on each side of the motor and 800 up front. Although, I think I am going to try 850 on each side of the motor and 1000 up front to try and kill myself. I want to fly! |

The fuel tank on my 1982 S/N 2001 only holds 23 gallons. With the 351 Ford we can go all day long on one tank, but are usually at 1/4 or below by the end of a long day.
If you go for the 454 and only the 23 gallon tank you'll need to refuel unless you're only out for a half day run. |

| I used to have an '83 2001. It was great and definitely provided a lot of bang for the buck. Add some weight and/or fat friends and the wake is perfect. I haven't ridden behind a Barefoot Nautique personally, but I've heard complaints of it having too wide a table. |
