get it on tape and then post it so we can all see it. not too many people will believe it until there is proof.

Indy tantrum vs handle tantrum are def different. I wouldnt knock the guy for the handle stunt, it looked pretty cool, just not a true 'wakeskate invert' by any means. But hey that turned into a 6 page discussion that got ugly so we will leave it alone on this post!
Back to the first post, I dont see why Hyperlite or any major board co would put something on their web page that they couldnt back up. Kind of like still shots in mags, you pretty much assume all the stuff is landed, or they would write in a small passage saying something along the lines of 'he didnt stick it but hey what a cool still!' Maybe Mike or Garrett can confirm that. |

No, I don't necessarily believe that all of the shots in mags are landed. A long time ago in snowboarding, they'd try to pull a foolish stunt by filming the trick and if it wasn't landed, they'd cut that part out. That really isn't acceptable anymore, but every once in awhile you'll see a trick that is cut off (one of grubb's sticks out in my mind but I dont' remember the video anymore). I've never ever seen a caption that you've suggested...maybe they dont' want to ruin the ambiance and the warm feeling you get inside when you see a dope picture. (That's kind of a joke but reading that the trick wasn't made would kind of ruin it for me. I'd rather imagine....)
Hey, I just thought of an example of a trick that may not have been landed in an ad. Look at danny hampson's kickflip over the gap in the oakley ad. There has been much debate on that one, but it still looks dope and I'm not disappointed in the least that they used it. I guess I'd say that sequences are for proof, stills are about the feeling and the art (I stilll LOVE thomas' ad for DVS from last spring). But that's my take on it, and that's not to say that sequences aren't about art either. _________________ J.L.A. Is Snowboarding

this kinda reminds me of the darkslide. was that landed? i doubt it otherwise there would be some news on first darkslide on the skate. as far as the still thing i hope those tricks are landed i wouldnt see why not but with all the pics they take they may not even remember what shots are good or not. in videos its different tho because you can tell. i remember in delta sessions this one uy lands a trick off the double up and i dont think he sticks it but they cut it off. |

theres no way every shot in the mags are landed, they take a billion shots and whatever looks good they use. i would sure hope that they would never use something like a fake dark slide or any trick that no one has done yet. |

I think he's talking about the darkslide on the wake at the end of some WBM where they tried to create some drama. Another good example, they were kind of stupid about it too. Probably because that was one shot that wasn't in alliance before it appeared in WBM (I keed, I keed). I personally dont' think that darkslide, was made, and I don't think anyone has done one yet. _________________ J.L.A. Is Snowboarding

thats not the darkslide i ment, i know there would be no way to fake a darkslide lipslide. im saying that it would be super lame to take one of the pics from the middle where the board is upside down on the lip and say he stuck it. or to pose one on a slider or something like that. i wasnt meaning to say that picture was fake. |

Yea the WBM darkslide thing was they had a guy on the board in the darkslide and it had a question below it that said:
Does "whoever" land this darkslide?
then upside down it said ANswer- Use ur imagination!

It was Drew.
As for tricks not being landed, it would not suprise me at all. For along time the skate mags would do the same thing. Some ads were even photoshopped. If a photog spends all day with a rider and the rider does not land it, the photog still has a responsibilty to give something to the mags, sometimes they try again, say the naxt day or so, sometimes they don't. _________________ http://www.integrity-wake.com
