I doubt that you'll find a "cheap" waterproof casing - the epic elite is $269+shiping . .which isn't that cheap but it looks like a good product. How good is your dv camcorder?? How much would you ay to replace it? Don't cheap out then screw up that camcorder!

269 is real cheap, compared to $2,000+ for custom housings, and $5,000+ for scuba housings.

I guess I am the cheap one, $269 is a lot of money to me!

i wish I had heard of that one before I bought mine from Sony, I think it was double the other one (CDN $).

410media, yeah, I have a link to Sea Research from my site. I use a few of his housings, and MANY wakeboard photogs and videographers use his housings. His turnaround time can't be beat and everything is custom.

I've been very happy with his products...great guy too... name is Jim Bailey.

Check out the video that the guys at Epic Cam put together with some footage that I sent them: http://www.epiccam.com/videoclips.htm (it's the first one listed and the only wakeboarding video). They did an incredible job of editing it, very cool style.

410media, Warren Bolster, one of the best surfing photogs in the world, uses Jim Bailey's housings. If they're good enough for Warren, they're good enough for anyone.

BillJ and Mike,

I am looking at getting a water proof enclosure for tube shots and the odd around water shots that will probably splash the camera but not totally submerse it. Between the Epic housing and the EWA (Sp) Marine bag which ones have you used or like better than the other.

Thanks

WakeTech, I think either would work. The Epic would definitely offer more protection for the cam and probably last longer but it's also heavier/bulkier.

Got the SPK-TRC for my TRV-900 and it works perfect. Had to modify the mounting peice to fit my camera though. This is the kind of housing Sean Kilgus used for his first few videos.
