Pine Needles in my neck of the woods!!! I am with Russian...never heard of Pine Straw.

At least you have heard both. I dont doubt one bit that the correct term is pine needles, I just say pinestraw

bothe terms are correct. just look it up on google. i think pine straw is a term used for a large mass of pine needles.

There is a difference! Not all Pin needles qualify as straw. It's the extremely long needles found in the East that qualify!

Pinons? Ponderosa? Spruce? Nope, nope, nope!

It's those long arsed 14" needles found in the over watered East that are straw! And are used the same way. ( I inlcude Arkansas in the East, just so they don't feel left out ) ;0

Pine Needles. If they were 10 feet long, I'd call it a BIG pine needle.
