I was interested if the optima battery was worth the price. I am mapping out a stereo and was wondering what battery to go with as well. |

Every post I've seen on the topic of batteries favors the Optima blue top.
That's what I'm getting in my new boat. |

B T,
As an extra, or are you getting it as your standard. My Bu is on order as well, and didn't think you could do that _________________ "Why do you keeping asking me if I am allright?" |

I run Interstate Marine, Deep Cycles. But Optima Blue tops can't be beat either...you can't go wrong with either choice. _________________ Winter sucks |

I purchased an optima blue top for my 2nd battery. If you want to justify the extra price, look at it this way, you never have to mess with it. It is a maintenance free battery that can be mounted in any posistion. |

optima blue or optima yellow. Both optima gell cell battries are great. These batteries are better for many reason's but Here are just a few. They take the vibration much better (Vibration is the #1 killer of batteries) They hold a charge better than most batteries. They will not leek Battrie Acid because they are sealed. ( you can even mount them Upside down!) there is more info on optima blue top battries in my Profile. There is a website link to my website. Im running 3 optima blue top's hope this help's _________________ The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.

I was told that batteries are installed by the dealer, not the factory.
As a result, you can have any battery you wish if your dealer will work with you. The dealers I've seen have the Optimas on sale as an aftermarket replacement option. Just swap the the Optima for the dealer "stock" battery and pay the additional cost. |

Check into AGM(absorbed glass mat) batts as well. I buy mine from Interstate. Lifestyle makes them as well. They are very spendy but worth the price if you dont ever want to mess with your batteries. They are the recomended batteries now for RV applications with high draw invertors. They are built to be used hard for long periods of time and draining them and recharging often dosnt deplete the life expectancy of the batt. |

My local Costco sells Optima blue-tops now. I don't know the exact price but it is around $150. You want to make sure you get a Deep Cycle battery, especially if you are running a high powered stereo with it, since it will be drained often while listening to tunes witgh the boat off. _________________ Ryan Delany
