has anyone gotten these yet? wondering what type of material the cord is in the back for the cinch tight. looks thin for a hard impact type rider like myself. Smile just wondering if it would break easy or not....... HOLLA!!!!!

I have the old byerly bindings and really like them. I dunno if the cinch string has changed but mine hasn't broken and I've been riding these bindings for 2 seasons.

i played with em today at a boat show and the string feels like a heavy duty wire with a plastic coating. not lookin very easy to break.

have you ever seen the cables on workout mahines at the gym? the new
Byerlys' Boa system uses the same stuff only much smaller. A few snowboard boot makers have been using the Boa system for a couple of years now. I havent heard of any cable breaking problems.

Yeah I just got a pair. The cable is made from stainless steel. It doesn't look like it would break anytime soon. But if it did they come with an extra cable, a BOA tool, and instructions on how to replace it. Looks pretty simple. I'm not sure where to get more cables, probably your local Hyperlite dealer. The only part on the binding I am not sure about it the rachet tightening mechanism. I'm sure it is tough enough, I'm just a skeptic.

I've tried on some, and seen many others try them on. The cables never tighten evenly. It jacks up the back of your boot.
