it seems to me that if he were to stop really quick, the water could come over the back corner of the boat and start to flood it.

Wow I wonder how many pounds they have in the boat? It looks like a little too much, wouldn't want to stop too fast. |

llenta, even with a regularly weighted boat, water will come over the back when you stop too quickly.

its a wakesurfing demo. what else do you expect to be in the racks?

i have an idea...lets see how many lame jokes we can crack about hyperlite and their so-cal rep's sante...yeah that will be fun!
and there probably isnt that much weight in the boat, they just put all of the weight (and people) in the back right corner of the boat. in addition, they are turning to the right which sinks the driver's side even more.
i'll be the first (and probably only) person to say it...props to wakeworld and dave for taking the time to put the wakesurf demo together. i dont know why that guy is wearing a drysuit in san diego though.... _________________ www.TheLiquidPlayground.com

It's probably the angle of the photo. It also takes a bit of weight to get a rideable wake surf wake out of that boat. What it lacks in a wakesurf wake it obviously makes up for it in a wakeboard wake.
Scott: I rode that lake that morning. the water was in the upper 50's and the air was supposed to reach a high of about 60. Call me a wuss, but when I took my first run at 7Am I did not hesitate to put MY drysuit on.
Oh yeah kinda funny how the jokes flew quickly in this thread. Hmmmm maybe cause WW was mentioned? Hmmmm |

Blabelmooch, i dont know about the exact temps in san diego, but bill j posted pics from the same time on lake elsinore and i remember people trunking it. maybe they rode on a colder lake or the weather was colder, but i remember trunks in the pics and thats why i commented. _________________ www.TheLiquidPlayground.com

Yeah there were some people trunking it. Actually if I was just wakesurfing, I probably would have. They didn't get going that day until 10 or so (Good thing since we were trying to get some decent water that morning). In the morning when we started, the air was in the low 40's. To my San Diego Native ass, that justifies a drysuit! _________________ Join the Surfrider Foundation at www.surfrider.org |

Blabelmooch, lows 40's would constitute a drysuit for me to. but to be honest, I really didn't think it got that cold down there _________________ http://www.integrity-wake.com

Russian, it doesn't get too cold by the coast but if you go inland (Lake Elsinore) it does. That morning of the famous "Gramps' SAN wake pic" it was 37 when I hopped into the water that morning. Luckily that day the water was warm. Average winter water temps at that lake are in the low to mid 50's. _________________ Join the Surfrider Foundation at www.surfrider.org |

i also go from trunks to drysuit when it gets chilly. why not be comfortable and ride with loose muscles if you can, rather than be cold and tight? neoprene suits are so inflexible as well. blah
i wonder if the boat had a double up sticker and was full of double up wakesurf boards if it would have gotten the same response? oh yeah, DU doesn't make them. |

We got Shauns sante like that. He had 3,000lbs and 6 people on one side of the boat practially falling off. It threw out a HUGE wake. It was almost as big as me and really steep. It was awsome wakesurfing though. _________________ Sliding Glass...It's what we do.
