|
|
That's right mo fo, I did it on my skateboard! I posted a message last week about practicing switch in winter, and got alot of great ideas. But, all of them demanded that i needed 2 people and a car to practice. Didn't want to depend on anyone else. Then i looked over and saw my treadmill! And the wheels started turning. I nabbed my skateboard from my son (who borrowed it and didn't return it) and tied and old rope and handle on the front of the treadmill and then kicked it up to 2-3 mph and it works! Then after 10 min or so I kicked it up to 5-6 mph which is fast on a treadmill and its great! I can go as long as I like, and I can even carve back and forth. Its awsome! So add this one to the list of practice ideas for winter, it can be done. Now I have 3 mo. to make my weak side as strong as my good side. Yeah, Its dangerous! So all you girls (I mean guys) that want to chime in and say how dangerous it is. We already know. thanks. Goodluck boarders! Jet _________________ Andrew"Jet"Mitchell

| Ok, that makes a bit more sense, but you live in Texas... why not go try and ride on your skate switch outside? |

Wouldn't a flow board be better to simulate riding on water?
Just a thought. www.flowlab.com

I tried this this too...unfortunately it didnt work out too well for me. I'm not sure how it happened but one of the wheels on my skateboard stopped turning. ya ripped the tread on the treadmill. I got a major rash on my arm from falling down and stuff. o well i had fun with it.
And ya not everyone can afford a flowboard, itch. THERES A THING CALLED MONEY. PEOPLE LIKE ME DONT HAVE NE _________________ Carpe the dium man...

how much mobility can you really get from a treadmill? I mean you can learn the general feeling of riding switch but you can't really use your body to "carve" or get a big motion. _________________ "Once I stopped to think and forgot to start again"

I told you before jet all you need is a motor scooter the Goped goes 23 and you toe a skateboarder behind it switch or not its fun. And yes I have plenty of road rash from it but hell Texas is the best for my new sport oh and learn one from me dont try to hit your X factor ramp while holding the rope at 23 miles per hour almost ripped all my skin off my left forearm. But its on tape and quite funny. _________________ Slob Gear

| We did it a few times behind a truck at 10 mph with a rope & handle about 15 feet back and it made a huge difference. |
