I am the only one finding the whole 420empire thing to be a little 5th Grade, honestly...If you smoke pot, I could care less, but to involve an entire site around it is childish.

Se7en, apparently the "420" part comes from when he and his wife got married or something. maybe they planned thier wedding to be on 4/20 so they can say they got married on 4/20? i dunno...i really dont understand either but thats his thing so whatever...

The 420 thing doesn't bother me at all. Smoking pot has a culture surrounding it, and 420 is part of it i suppose. The only problem i see with people advertising their potheadedness to the world is that it also comes with a stigma, it's hard to be taken seriously. Alot of people smoke pot, alot of important people, alot of really intelligent people. I've worked with doctors and residents at hospitals who smoke pot. But they are also smart enough to keep it hidden. I say do whatever you want to do, but keep it to yourself and your close friends. Letting the world know you are into mind altering substances is only going to make things that much more difficult.

Not to offend, but more constructive criticism. A lot of videos posted on here aren't that great and I think people should concentrate a bit more on the quality of their videos rather than pumping out a new one every couple weeks. Your video will be a lot better if you do that and you'll have something you can be proud of to share with the wb.com community.

Se7en, not 'apparently' this was the date we were married, this IS the date we were married, We chose that date for other reasons than what everyone knows it to be. the people who need to know....know. those who THINK they know are ussually way off. and that is ok, but if i can educate someone with truth rather than hearsay, i will feel much better.

i have come to accept that some people just like to take 'digs' at one another. I personally don't unless provoked, but after staying off this site for months I just felt like I could set the record straight on a few things...

Jumalian: How is the name of the site significant to your outlook in life?

420 was the date we were married and started building our business' together, which includes other things besides the websites. How it is significant to our outlook on life is that we try to hang with people that feel or do or want to acheive an extreme life as we do. and not just describing 'wakeboard' wakeskate, wakesurf, just life in general. extreme good times, extreme fun hang out sesssions where we may or may not get to wakeboard *due to weather or on occasion boat trouble* we have all been there, right? but the meaning isnt so 'black and white' it is a name to cover quite a few aspects of our lives. We like to be happy and be surrounded by upbeat, happy, positive people. and just so happens that those kinds of people have 'extreme' personalities. which means they are passionate too, in some aspect of THEIR life, which we respect, because all we ever wanted to do with our site was to present our footage of what we call 'extreme' (*others may beg to differ, which is fine..) regardless we call it extreme footage because that is how we feel when we tape/edit and view it. it feels extremely good to look at alot of our footage *to us* and think back about fun times we had with some really good people, great friends, old and new ones and realize just how lucky we all really are in the whole scheme of things. to be blessed with so many good times/friends/locations...everything! so the point is to just
"do it now, before you miss your chance" not meaning any one thing in particular, just do things, do things that make you happy that make you feel extreme. this may come out sounding all corny and sappy, but i have never been more proud of myself then when i finish wakeboarding or when i take someone new out and they get up....that is what its all about and i try to support and understand all different views, i see on here that some people have their mind set and its easy to 'gang up and pick on someone' and that is fine, if that is how you live your life, then hay, thats you. all i am trying to do is present some information so that a few of your questions are cleared up. Jake and I both grew up in very bad homes and didnt have much of a chance to be happy in our childhoods. that is neither here nor there, but knowing that maybe you will see why we just want to enjoy life and not get negativity slung at us every time we post something. I have locked out alot of negative people in my life and when we make these videos of us and friends having fun and riding, maybe they are not the 'best' but they are like watching family videos for us...and to me they are the best, cuz they are capturing the one thing that i never had growing up....an extremely fun life. that is all.

everything gets 'played out' or commercialized sooner or later, but i feel like if you dig something, who cares if 'everyone' thinks its played out...you live this life for you...not for anyone else.

anyway, hope that clears up the questions. I was not trying to come off sounding rude or trying to be 'uncivil' i just wanted to state some facts that could maybe help anyone who really wanted to know...what the real deal is.

Just like today, I was EXTREMELY happy when I tried an air 180 for the first time after only 5 months of riding and pulled it off and rode away from it!!! everyone of the guys in my crew had some part in helping me acheive that goal! and that was my goal for next season, so i guess i am ahead of the game now! *but guess who forgot to bring the video camera!!! oh well, guess I'll just have to pull it off again next weekend!!!

to answer your question, one which no one has yet to ask on any chat board *due to that assuming* again, Jake and I lost someone very special on April 20th 2 years before we were married and to honor her memory, we decided to wed on that day.

also, out of sheer coincidence when I was little I was adopted by my foster family out of Stoney Bluffs Childrens Home by two great parents and the adoption papers were signed on April 20th..(in the late 70's) so, happy day, sad day, then we turned it around and made it a happy day again by getting married on that date!

but thanks for taking the time to ask and not assuming we were in it for the 'snoop style'...although, like we have said many times before, it is very good marketing. becuz we do get awhole 'nother crowd just due to the name! *which is all good by us* potheads don't hurt no body! they are much to mellow LOL

OOOPS ...(guess I forgot to add the most SIGNIFICANT detail ) LOL ok, ok, also it means the time my husband is off work! (the adoption and honoring the memory definatley come in first and second, but bringing up the rear in a close third is :: Jakes being off work by 4:20 also makes him VERY happy! tee hee hee.

And yes, I do realize that everyone will always associate it with the international time to smoke out....that doesnt bother me...I know in my heart what it means to us..and sometimes we may have to explain...but even if people think that it is about pot...its not the end of the world. we didnt go into it blind..we knew this would happen, just speed bumps... but I guess its better they associate our site with smoking weed than thinking we named it that to celebrate Hitlers Birthday!!! (also April 20th)
