I heard it from another source just now... Does anyone know for sure????

yeah, i've was waiting to hear about this and then the thread disapaered. my guess is that it's true and they're wanting to do something formal about it or the moderators are tired of the BS.

stuff, if board companies would pay their riders according to how many of their pro models maybe companies going under wouldn't be a problem. i remember a while back that hyperlite was having problems finacially. well hopefully this is just a rumor and if not they'll get some backing.

Even If EOS was having problems. Liquid Force could be sold. They have a strong enough product and image to attact a new owner. From what I've seen, Liquid Force seems to be doing better this year. I don't deal with O'brien so I don't have any comment about them.

Some of you people are worse then women with all your drama. LF did close their doors only because they moved to Encinita's CA. Bigger shop, thier own lake for R&D and other reasons. LF had an awesome year in 2003 so they are expanding to handle their demand. I posted a new # for them on "another wakesite". Stop your drama people. Show some maturity. Evil or Very Mad

Ya I dunno either, I haven't heard anything bad about LF or Obrien...LF just moved their HQ to expand because of the business demand...and with a guy like Darin Shapiro whos top of the tour on your team...not to mention Dallas Friday...I think Obrien is doing just fine. Once I get some more $, im going to buy another one of their boards. This is just what I think, anyone got anything concrete?

i talked to my buddy that _works_ at lf in their new offices, and he said this is most likely a rumor, this was as of last night.

I think that was another unfouned rumor.... a lot of "kids" on here say they know a guy who knows someone that told them that.... It's usually all BS. Just like Hyperlite and HO shutting it's doors, just like Origin going bankrupt and selling to joyride, all of it is based on someone's thoughts instead of concreate eveidence.

Ive heard rumors like this before about companies going out of business, but none of these companies ever went out of business. Blindside was one of these companies and they are still around just changed ownership. Something similiar could happen for LF and obrien if it is true and they are out of business. I personally don't know weather or not its true, for wakeboarding i hope it isnt true. However, if it is true other board companies will get a chance to expand and become more of a force in the wakeboarding industry.

In regards to darin and orbrien, I believe that in the most recent issue of alliance, they mentioned in the news section that he was no longer with obrien and he was looking for a new sponsor. If that's true, it really doesn't surprise me in the least but whatever.

Better think again....both of them are gone. Well atleast for now. LF is made by Obrien, so if Obrien goes, LF does not have a big choice. Hopefully by next friday (21st) Obrien will have a new backer a long with LF.

Guess these "kids" were right. I was skeptical at first...but looked into it.

Its an individual buyer...who is on vacation right now. Not sure if he will be using a business name or not though to buy the company.

I just found out that Earth and Ocean sports has closed the doors on LF and Obrien. I work for a dealer of both wake companies, and showed up to work this morning to a fax machine full of faxes verifying this "rumor".
