I have always heard that towing your boat with the cover on wrecks havoc on a boats gel coating, yet almost every boat I see going down the road has the cover on it. _________________ "Spring Yet???" |

it is fine to tow with a towing cover or at slower speeds, but towing with a cover can scratch the boat if there is any dirt (most good towing covers have felt on the inside), but mainly, it just damages the cover and makes it wear our faster (especially new ones made out of sunbrella)...

I've never seen a boat towed with the cover on it. I HAVE seen boats getting towed and having the boards in the board racks.... that just seems retarded. No cover for towing it though. _________________ "What do you mean you're done for the night...Insomnia doesn't even open until 4. Get your $*** together Billy, cause the night ain't over!"

yeah that seems to be the"cool" thing to do here in Austin. I'm sure one of these days I'll see one fall out and get thrashed on the road.

If you have a towing cover its no prob. If you have a regular boat cover it will trash the gel coat. I tow with a cover all the time on long hauls

Our cover on our boat is snap-ons inside...so I guess its not really a cover, but it keeps out the weather super nice and makes easy for long hauls, doesn't even touch the gel coat.

No cover here. I don't ever put a cover on my boat except for the winter. I keep it in a garage shed though.

cover off for me too, unless it's raining or the roads are wet. Gravel and sand and other wet stuff from the road are probably worse than a few scratches in the gellcoat.
