I look at it different than a lot of people. Let me explain.
I used to do some serious mountain bike racing a few years back. When I turned expert I picked up sponsers and was told which bike to ride, which helmet to wear, which socks to wear... and so on... My personal bike is a Breezer. I love it. One year I was sponsered by Giant and had to race a Giant XTC. When I first got it, I hated it. The Giant handled very different than my Breezer. I got used to it after a month or so. However, I could not ride my Breezer on the weekend b/c it was way different a ride. When that season ended I gave back the Giant and started riding my Breezer again. I had a hard time riding my Breezer b/c I got used to the Giant. I was, however, very good on both bikes once I got used to them.
So, I think boats and wakeboards are very similar. If you get used to the one you ride, then you will learn the style of that boat/board and get just as good with it as you would if you spent 10K more. Of course you do need to weight all boats some.
Just my 2 cents worth. You agree? |

I partially agree...
Some boats just will not throw a good wake, no matter how much you weight it. _________________ "I don't understand...what is this NO WAKE zone you speak of?...and what does it mean?" |

I agree completely. All the boats are great. It's more of a personal preference and dealer choice. _________________ Travis Farber |

the hull designs have changed though, the hull design for x-star and SAN produce a steep wake which gives you better pop, all boats can be used a wakeboard boat as long as they can pull you up, I have saw some guys through some tantrums on older boards than me, boards depend on what kind of style but just depends on what you like, you are right there you can adapt to a board _________________ Five to One Baby, One to Five; No one here gets out alive |

I would agree that you can not go too far wrong with any inboard tow boat, a lot of it is personal preference. Most people do not ride a board long enough (if they do not like it/are not used to it) to get used to it to eventually like it.
IMO, most recreational boarders are not even good enough to worry so much about the board. If you have good technique most any board will get the job done. I am used to my trip and if i got another board i would not be used to it and would board poorly for a while. However, if Darin Shapiro got on a trip, or any board, I imagine he could rip it on anything. So it is not so much the board as people like to believe. _________________ Check out https://www.facebook.com/darcizzleoffshore |
