`How much do you all pay for insurance? I'm trying to figure out what a good price is to insure a 2003 Wakesetter.

Wow, I am getting jobbed for mine at $668 through Progressive for a 1999 X-star. Does age have anything to do with insurance, like it does for car insurance? I'm under 30, how old are you guys and do you know if it's helped your rates?

Progressive is rough, It seems that for the best price in Boat insurance you need to go with the boat ins speciality people like ski safe. They aren't so swayed by HP numbers.

Mine's through Progressive and I pay $306 / year for full coverage. I have 100/300/100 liability, 100K medical, and $250 deductions for both collision and comp.

I have Allstate, and pay a little over $400 a year.

ADVICE: Make sure you have $300,000 in liability. It is more expensive, but it is well worth it if something happens. Trust me, I am talking form experience.

There are too many factors really to compare prices. Whats cheap for me could be outrageous for someone else.

Depending on your state, age, driving record, limits of liability, value of the boat, year of the boat and get this..... YOUR CREDIT SCORE are all going determine your premium.

Your going to have to shop around.

Loss history is another factor.

mine is throught progessive, just make them look through their other dealers. Progessive doesn't really do any insurance through themselves, they always use someone else. They were gonna charge me like 800, but then I had them look around and they found what I have now. Oh yeah and I'm 25 and still in school.

I'm waiting for my quote right now. I have a dynamite Allstate agent, so he gets first dibs on covering my demo boat this summer.

I have full coverage on my 86 nauti and it's a little over 200 through progressive. When my insurance runs out I think I will go with BoatUS.

Definitely need to go with the $300K of liability - believe that's the minimum for any sanctioned events......

If any of you in TX are looking for boat insurance, PM me and I'll give you my dad's contact info. He's a state farm agent of 30+ years, and will take care of you.
