I've added a light bar with six lights and two amps to my stereo system. The stereo system runs 500 watts RMS to a band pass sub, two tower speakers and four interior speakers. I've got dual batteries and the stock alternator on a Mercruiser 350 engine. Do I need to upgrade the charging system or will it do the job. Thanks.[/img][/b]

Doubt you need to upgrade your alternator, but you may want to install a battery isolator so that when your boat is not running it only draws of the secondary battery thus insuring you always have a good starting battery. I just Installed two amps that total over 1000watts RMS and have had the system running through tests for over a couple hours with no problems. You can find one real cheap.

You don't "NEED" to up grade right now. Do you know what your stock Alternator is putting out??? Ibet it no more than 50-60 amps I have a 02 Air It had a 60 amp Alternator. I could tell I was beating it to death so before It gave out I got a High Output alternator You can see more info on my profile website. G

The 150 I ordered from Battery shack would not fit in my new VLX, due to mounting problems so just make sure to get a good idea of what fits and its size bf you order...
