I am looking into surgery for my nose, basically a nose job. Its for the most part to help me breath better, because I have whats called a deviated septum (I think that is how it is spelled), well I was wondering if anyone on here who wakeboards, had this done. How long were you out, and couldnt wakeboard? I figured a doctor wouldnt understand what wakeboarding is (because I am pretty sure the one we will use doesnt know anything about it), and that the water can really be hard on falls. I searched the net, couldnt find anything into specifics about sports and the surgery. Will I be out of wakeboarding for a very long period of time, I just want to get some answers from some people in the same position as me, rather then others, who have no idea about wakeboarding, becasue I dont want to get the surgery and be out for like a year, or get it, and go out to early, and have soemthing go wrong. Well if anyone has had expirenced this specific surgery, can ya answer some of my questions? thanks a lot in advance if anyone can help. Cool Very Happy

My dad had something similar done to remove polyps in his sinuses. Plan on having splints in your nose for 1-2 weeks and you'll probably need to be out of commission for a month or so. Make sure you talk to your doctor before hitting the lake again. In fact,

Since we're on the subject... has anyone out there had lasik? I'm going to be gettin my eyes fixed a few months, and I'm told I'll be out for about a month. The only thing thats getting me is that I have to wear glasses for 6 weeks before the surgery... no contacts whatsoever. ugh.

Thanks, you just told me stuff I found on the net though...but of course, I am willing to give up some wakeboarding for something like this, I will probably take a little longer off then the doctor says, becasue he might not know just how hard water can be in this sport.

Thnaks alot for the help though, I read online, I wouldnt be able to blow my nose for 2 weeks...I am afraid of that one I have to admit.
