| Are the Belmont 141 from 2003 or the obrien vision from 2003 good boards to learn on. What should I look for in a board that I wanna learn new stuff on. (Note: I can jump wake to wake) I want a board that edges well and has good pop but descent landing. |

| I would got with the belmont. I hevent ridden the vision, but I've heard its pretty loose. I know the belmont is a great board to learn on, and you'll be about to rip with it too! |

| I agree, I started with a 03 Belmont 136 this summer, it's not bad to learn on, and will allow you to pretty much do anything as you progress |

I ride the vision 135 and love it. It has all the qualities I look for in a board - very fast, holds a strong edge into the wake yet releases well & has great pop. I personally don't think the board rides loose but everyone has their own opinion.
However, if you're a rider that's going from wake jumps into more advance tricks, then I personally think the Belmont is a better board to learn on. It's more user friendly & forgiving on the landings if you sketch out on a trick. I think the Belmont has softer landings too.
If there's one down side to the vision, it's that there's no middle ground with this board. You either stick a trick or you don't. The edges grab hard and that's why I personally don't think that the vision is good for a beginner. We all know that when you are learning new stuff that the landings can get sketchy, that's why I don't like it as a beginner board.
But, if you have the chance to demo both boards before you buy them then that would be the best option you have. Try them both first and see which one you like better. I typically now don't buy a board until I ride it first.
Best of luck |
