even thiugh it might be just a little bit more than you had it is still more weight. it depends if u have not to much weight in the boat a hundred pounds more will make it a little bigger but if you already have a good amount and u wanna see it get bigger u will need to put in at least 200 more. _________________ pointless crew is so insane. |

Yeah if you are going to weight your boat, WEIGHT YOUR BOAT. Any boat with a deep V hull and decent power should be able to handle an abundance of weight. Inboards, I/O, and V-Drives can all be weighted to the max, I would be careful weighting an outboard though.
The smallest weight sacs I have seen are fat buddies which are sold as 2x250lbs, and thats just a start. We use two 750lb sacs, about 150lbs in free weights for the very rear of the stern (to get a good lip), and like to fill the boat with a bunch of beer-consuming bodies. It makes the wake very nicely shaped, good lengthy transition, nice solid lip with little wash.
Weight makes ALL the difference in the shape and size of your wake. Compare it to skateboarding. You can ride a 3' mini pipe and have a good time dancing around on the lip, but wouldnt you rather ride the 8' vert ramp? |

Depends where the weight is. 100 or 200lbs in the same general place as you have 500lbs may not make a noticable difference. But moving 100 lbs around or adding it in a different place will make a noticable difference....not so much the size but the shape. |

Jim m why be careful weighting an outboard? we had this old school prostar with a 225 on the back with at least 2000lbs of weight and the engine was rippin! _________________ They know what is what but they dono what is what they just strut. |
