I have an older I/O. I have made a decision that I will only get one of these. Which one should I get?

Skylon Fat Buddies
$120 (sold in pairs)
280# each (560# total)
To be used under each seat next to the engine cover (in the very back)

Skylon HD Fatboy
$80
500#
To be put in the ski locker (located where the driver's seat starts, streches to tip of boat)

Skylon Locker Sack
$130
600#
To be put in the ski locker

Please tell me which one you would get please, price is not a big issue. Also, is coverless worse or better than covered? Thanks in advance.

no problem...

I'd be more specific about which bag to get, but i've never weighted an I/O before...

coverless is the way to go though...

I have one of these. I love it, because I can take it with me in my friends boat. And the price is right.

Some other options if you care are a BIG BUMP 750 pounds!!!! I got mine for like $60-70 maybe less I can't remember. BGs are also sweet. Holds 600 pounds came w/ a cover and was less than $85-80. Got both off of ebay. Sorry not much experience w/ sklon though.

i would go coverless if the sac is out in the open, but in the ski locker, i would keep the cover on. you are filling your sac up as much as possible pushing it against the walls of the locker. if there are any sharp points, it can tear your sac. not worth it in my book, thats the only time i would use the cover.

If your only putting weight in one place with an I/O but it in th center or more towards the front unless you are going to have all your passengers ride in the bow. The more weight you have in the back the less you will be able to trim the motor and thats were you get the wake from an I/O. I prefer to even it out from the bow to the locker and have people sit in the back.

id probably say locker sac if you have a good amount of people on the boat. if there are only 3 people then maybe the sacs in the back would be better.

Ok so from the sound of it the HD Fatboy isn't the way to go. Most of you say locker sack in the bow, people in the back, or fat buddies in the back, people in the bow. So we pretty much ruled out the fatboy. Now I have to see if the regulars are willing to sit in the back. Thank you eveyrone for your replies!

i know you didnt list this as one of the options, but the "get high sports 'big bump'" is the way to go. it holds 750#s and it just sits right in the middle of your boat. i have an 18.5 foot I/O, and it works out well. But i usually only have like 2-3 people in the boat at once, so for me space isnt an issue. i think the website is gethighsports.net the price is real good too! check it out.
