I have a 175 XT (135hp) I/O Bayliner with a waketower. Can anyone recommend the best prop/pitch for getting out of the hole with the most power. Sometime I feel like the boat struggles to get someone up if I have 4-5 people in the boat. I was hoping a better prop would help out. Any other suggestions on how to enhance my 135 horses (besides buying a new boat) |

Again, I'd suggest a search on this topic. You'll get more info than you'll need.
Hell, we don't even know what you're currently running.

| It depends on your current prop. But I'd guess you are running a 3 blade 21 pitch. Your best bet is to move to a 4 blade 18 pitch. It has much better low end pull. I picked up my 4 blade from Overtons. |

| I believe it is a 21 pitch 3 blade. Thanks for the info! |

If you can get a 5 blade for it they have awesome hole shot and are easier to hold speed with but at the sacrifice of reverse thrust, for a merc they are called a High-5. A 4 blade would be a better all around prop. _________________ Founder of Monster Tower Wakeboard Towers

hye, i have that exact same boat & i have tried at least 15 prop this summer
in what condition are you running the boat, hwo much ballast??
i usually run the boat with about 1000 to 1500 lbs including the people
the best thing i've found yet is a high five 19 pitch(mercruiser prop)
i have a 17 pitch but the top speed suffer a lot( 36 mph)
with the 19 i still have a great hole shot & a decent top speed
i also have a 22 4 blade (ron hill built)nice prop by the way
top speed is 45 but its hard to go out of the water with my 800 lbs ballast & 5 peoples, they have to go up front to get out of the water
also tried mirage plus, ballistic, lazer & lazer II
best all around without any ballast is the high 5 21 pitch
for a great hole shot, the high 5 19 pitch
for a wake board purpose boat only, the 17 pitch is a killer, but kill the hy speed too...
if you have any question, i'll be glad to help you |

i got the hi 5 on my i/o and the great thing is that there are plugs in front of the blades that allow you to change to pressure on the blades at low speeds. if you set those up right for your boat. not only will you get an amazing hole shot, but it won't affect your top speed that much. My hole shot is ten times better with only three mph top speed drop.

| I've got the same engine as you, and I have an Alpha 4, 20 pitch four blade(made by merc). It makes a huge difference in hole shot, holds speed better, shapes the wake nicer and only took 3 mph off of the top end. |
