One thing I think that is easy to forget in the process of building a slider is that once you're done with the individual components and everything is assembeled, it can be extremely difficult to move these things. I've seen some people build theirs on a trailer which is an excellent idea.
Have any of you experienced any problems while trying to launch your slider becuase of what it weighed? Or perhaps once you lifted it, the weight of the structure actually cracked parts of the slider? BOth have happened to us. Anyone else?

well i built a 26 footer made up of 2 12foots with a 2foot gap, it was wood with a base 4feet across we put rocks on to hold it down, it took us 2 trys to get it to actualy sink!!!, we had to put 400lbs of rocks on each end, and pull the foam out quick to launch it towards the bottom or else it would tip over, then it would barley stay down, we added another 500lbs of rocks to stick it to the bottom. In the process we broke a few supports but a scuba mask and some srews fixed it. _________________ They know what is what but they dono what is what they just strut. |
