| Got a Hyperlite Grubb 112 for my B-day and went out for the first time this weekend. Had a super fun time, quite a bit different then wakeboarding. Managed some surface spins, a few small jumps, butter slides, etc. No cool tricks yet but learning... I was really supprised at how much the start was just like a wakeboard even though there's no bindings. Also managed a sit start just for grins which was amusing. |

Yep keep working with your board control and your riding will really develop, always be edging around and popping ollies and all that. And same as a wakeboard, dont neglect switch riding. After you get comfortable with releasing the board for surface slides, bring it to the wake and work on boardslides and lipslides.
You can do a deep water start with the board underneath you just like a wakeboard as well, stand on it and keep your weight even, knees bent, and just let it rise up to the surface as the boat increases speed. Its a litle more effortless bc you dont have to worry about keeping your feet on the board when you are waiting on the slack. |

Didn't have any trouble with the start. I was supprised at how easy it was, pretty much just like a wakeboard. I can't wait to get back out and work on more tricks this weekend. If only I didn't have to work...
I found that the edging felt a little different than the wakeboard, not quite as easy without your feet connected but at the same time I seemed to have an easier time riding switch.
Only a few more weeks left to my season here in NC, going to have to try to learn as much as possible before I have to put up until next spring. |

I wakeskated for the first time last weekend also. I was at owc wakeboarding and the slider cable was broke so i got bored of riding in circles on the other one so i decided to try wakeskateing. I demod at byerly 107 and i loved it. I didn't think i'd like it cuz i never liked skateboarding but it was great, such a different feel than wakeboarding. didn't have any trouble edging but couldn't quite keep the board under my feet off the kicker. _________________ ow thats gonna hurt tomorrow
