Anyone made a homemade wakeskate with a foam deck instead of using grip tape? What kind of foam did you use etc?

or u can buy a replacement one from hyperlite...goto your shop...they will say no...but u can do it...

My buddy was able to get 1/4" foam from a local place. A rubber company, you could check out something like that. It came with an adhesive back so you just peel and stick. Its the most grippy stuff around I think, you get the best of both worlds.

used EVA foam as it doesn't absorb water, got from local rubber selling store from a big roll (3mm thick) works quite well, not quite as grippy as GT. see attachment in myreply to concave homemade wakeskate thread for pic
