Every end of the month our company has beer parties. And this Friday is the one for January. we usually have 2 kegs of coors light, a keg of shiner, and some wine for the ladies. It goes on in our breakroom, anyone else have anything like this? _________________ "What do you mean you're done for the night...Insomnia doesn't even open until 4. I have to say that is pretty odd! Until, I remember when I worked for this company in Cincy that had a party in the breakroom with a catered bar and bartender. Seems like a legal nightmare to me! But, it was interesting. _________________ My opinion is my opinion!

my company used to allow drinking after 5, for those that were stuck here working late. That all ended when a lady got a little too tipsy and busted her ass at the bottom of the stairwell. _________________ The answer is D - All of the above. |

One bad apple always ruins it for the bunch. The other bar I work at used to allow people to drink on the clock. Then one time, one of the girls was dancing on the bar and sprained her ankle. Now they have very strict rules about drinking while working-we can't!!! |

Premier- How do you like Bartending? What kind of bar is it? I'm getting my certification right now and am trying to figure out what kind of bar would be good to work at. IMO this is the perfect job for college students. _________________ If I agreed with you we would both be wrong. |

It's pretty cool, they always say that you can call a cab on their dime to take you home. They also have it up to your disgression on how much to drink. There is also 2 foosball tables, 2 pool tables, shuffleboard and an air hockey table in the breakroom. About the only time we get to use them is at the parties though. It does help me so save some $$$, drinking right off the bat on a friday. _________________ "What do you mean you're done for the night...Insomnia doesn't even open until 4. It's the business you work in, B-rad. My wife is a Public Relations AE, and their agency does very similar things. _________________ I walk 47 miles of barb wire, I got a cobra snake for a necktie, a brand new house up on the road side, and it's made out of rattlesnake hide |

Nor-Cal-You are getting a certification to bartend? Did that cost a lot? I am lucky and a friend of mine is part owners of both of the bars I work at. So when I wanted a job, all I had to do is call and ask. I got on-the-job training.
One of the bars I work at is a pub and the other one is a restaurant/nightclub. I like both of the atmospheres-very different crowds.
Bartending is a great job for college students. Just don't get caught up in the drinking aspect.... |

Yeah I'm pretty stoked on the whole thing. I'm going through American Bartenders. It's actually pretty cheap and you can do it all at home. After I pass thier test they have job placement for life. Not bad in my mind. I dunno figure it will be something fun to do for the rest of my schooling. As for drinking on the job? I probably won't but if they have some good beer on tap I might not be able to resist. Figure I might save some money by being on the other side of that bar. _________________ If I agreed with you we would both be wrong. |

Everyone says they wont drink if they bartend. It sounds like a nice idea until you are around it all the time and everyone else wants to drink as well.
I would much rather make money then spend it. Drinking for free rocks as well!! |

Actually, I my case, beer party is work.
Premier-- It is kind of a pain to know that if you take one out of the cold box, you gotta put it back in before going home. Don't forget to rotate |

We used to have the same kind of thing when I worked in real estate, all premium beer and wines, catered sort of stuff, on the last friday of every month. All three branches would get together and take turns hosting it in their offices. All the young chicks (what is it with young, hot chicks in real estate?) would get blasted and flirt with the boss, a 54 year old guy who loved every minute of it.
But they were all assh*les in suits... so it was a bit... stiff..... _________________ Terminate high thinking |
